"Γάμα ό,τι θες, ALS" translates to “F*!ck whatever you want, ALS.”
I created this bespoke design as a celebration of Greece, a little Greek magic, and a very colourful act of defiance against ALS.
Every element carries meaning: the Rod of Asclepius for healing, pomegranates for luck and prosperity, olives for endurance and triumph, and broken classical pillars for a strong life interrupted, but not diminished.
The stars represent the many different ways ALS can affect every person, while the mati and «Φτου! Φτου! Φτου!» invoke the Greek tradition of warding off the evil eye.
And then, of course:
Γάμα ό,τι θες, ALS.
Because I'm not interested in simply surviving a disease. I want to live well alongside it!
Also "Το MND? O Malàkas"....because it REALLY is a 🍑 hole!
Living with ALS comes with enormous costs, financial, practical and otherwise, and navigating life with a progressive disability within an underfunded support system can make maintaining quality of life considerably harder.
The income from this print helps offset those costs and fund the things that allow me to live more independently, creatively and fully, while supporting my work raising awareness of what life with ALS actually looks like.
This isn't a print about illness.
It's a print about choosing life, making it beautiful, and telling ALS it doesn't get to call all the shots.
