This is not what it looks like…

This is still a Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga. But at the end of week 2, students get to enjoy a partner Yoga class.
It’s fun, it’s strong and it builds trust.
Next YTT in Greece with Alpha Yoga:

We are so proud of you! Here are few clips from the final Vinyasa flows that the students taught yesterday, as part of their final exams. They nailed their sequences, the adjustments, the mirroring (work in progress, but getting there, lol). You have come so far in just three weeks! Thank you for all the effort and hard work that you put into this training. We have high standards and expectations from our students and you definitely delivered ❤️❤️❤️

This is what the YTT looks like in Greece 🇬🇷

Morning sea views, sweaty Ashtanga & Vinyasa classes, hands-on adjustments, anatomy and philosophy sessions… and a group of 22 beautiful souls who started as strangers and will leave as friends. Thank you to all of you for being our students. We would not be teachers without you.

Our 200h YTT is for yogis who are ready to stop guessing their alignment, deepen their practice, and learn how to teach with confidence. You’ll practice hard, study a lot, get feedback, and graduate ready to start teaching. You’ll have fun, be supported, motivated, have the best food and make lots of yogi friends….

Next 200hour yoga instructor courses:

28th June - 16th July
17th July - 9th Aug
26th Aug - 16th Sept
18th Oct - 8th Nov 2026

You might know or not know this about Alpha Yoga: We hate multi style yoga teacher training. That’s why, in our 200hrs YTT, we keep things focused. We teach Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga. That’s it. Most of the students who join our training, practice Vinyasa Yoga before coming here and Ashtanga is pretty new to them. In the second week of the course, they start practicing Ashtanga self practice. Martin and I are there to adjust them, to assist, to remind them modifications and the vinyasa. Let’s hear what and say about their first self practice class.

If this transition seems impossible to you, watch this video. Definitely one of the most challenging postures from Ashtanga Series. It requires open hips, hamstrings, and strength to exit the pose. Yoga is not the poses or transitions but the lessons learned along the way.

We are in the yoga teacher course at the moment and many students call me or Martin to assist them with Bhujapidasana during their Ashtanga self practice. So here is a tutorial that might help you, even if you are not here with us. Prerequisite for this pose is crow pose, which is not in the Primary Series. Crow pose is only the exit out of this pose. And I didn’t do it here because this tutorial is for beginners. Practice practice and all is coming…

2nd Vinyasa class of the YTT ⬆️⬆️. We had fun with some arm balances. This week we work on backbends. A must in all classes… because we are as young as our spine is….
