Sheriff Medical Centre Seeks Correction of Ambulance Listings, Says Vehicles Were Misidentified
Sheriff Medical Centre Inc. has written to the Commissioner of Traffic Police seeking clarification and correction of information published in the Outstanding Traffic Tickets Publication List dated August 27, 2026.
In a letter dated August 31, 2026, the medical centre stated that vehicles bearing registration numbers PAB5612, PYY7513 and PZZ6190 are ambulances registered under the name of Mr. Shareef Ahmad.
According to the medical centre, the vehicles are used exclusively for emergency medical response and patient transportation.
The centre said it is concerned that the three registrations appeared on the published outstanding traffic tickets list, claiming that the inclusion has created a public impression that the ambulances were involved in traffic violations.
Sheriff Medical Centre further stated that, based on its understanding, ambulances are excluded from such public listings because of their role in providing emergency medical services.
The organisation maintains that the ambulances have not violated traffic rules and is asking the Traffic Police to review its records and correct the information to reflect the vehicles' status as ambulances.
The medical centre said the public listing, without what it considers the appropriate context, has resulted in what it described as misrepresentation and reputational harm, while potentially undermining public confidence in emergency medical services.
The letter formally requests correction of the records to reflect the ambulance status of the three vehicles registered under Mr. Shareef Ahmad.
