À l’AFRAVIH 2026, Françoise Vanni, Directrice des Relations extérieures et de la Communication du Fonds mondial, à souligné que le lénacapavir – un produit injectable à administrer deux fois par an, efficace à près de 100 % pour prévenir le VIH – représente une opportunité majeure pour The Global Fund et ses partenaires.

« Il est de notre devoir d’être ambitieux. Avec nos partenaires, nous avons pour objectif de fournir le lenacapavir à 3 millions de personnes d’ici 2028. En parallèle, nous accélérons l’introduction du produit dans d’autres régions, notamment en Afrique de l’Ouest et centrale, par exemple au Bénin, mais aussi en Amérique latine et en Asie. »

Yesterday, Dr Wendy Telgt Emanuelson, Director of PANCAP, presented an engraved PANCAP pen to Grenada’s Minister of Health, Wellness and Religious Affairs, Hon. Philip A. Telesford, in recognition of his valued support.

“Despite the many competing demands faced by Ministers of Health, his leadership as Chair of the Executive Board of PANCAP has been instrumental during the development of the current Caribbean Regional Strategic Framework (CRSF) on HIV and AIDS. We express sincere appreciation for his commitment, guidance, and dedication to advancing the regional HIV response,” stated the PANCAP Director.

🇧🇸 The Bahamas has been certified for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (EMTCT) by Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization , a powerful step toward ending AIDS in the Caribbean.
