感謝大家在世界視覺日踴躍參與ForeSee團隊在香港科技大學舉辦的互動活動！我們邀請大家參與我們的互動式眼睛乾澀測試環節，並通過趣味體驗科普“20-20-20法則”和護眼知識，現場交流熱烈，收集到很多積極反饋，成功達成 核心目標——喚醒香港科技大學社群對眼部健康的重視。每一份支持都是我們繼續前進的動力，一起攜手 foresee a brighter future！👁️✨

World Sight Day event has come to a successful conclusion! Thank you all for your attention and participation! 👁️🙌
Thank you all for actively participating in the interactive activities organized by the ForeSee team at HKUST on World Sight Day! We invited everyone to take part in our interactive dry eye test session and learn about the ”20-20-20 rule“ and eye care knowledge through fun experiences. The on-site interaction was lively, and we received many positive feedbacks, successfully achieving the core goal of the - raising awareness of eye health within the HKUST community. Every support is our motivation to move forward. Let’s work together to foresee a brighter future! 👁️✨

Mark your calendars for October 9, 2025, and come visit our booth outside of Engineering Commons! We’re excited to raise awareness about digital eye strain and share some easy tips to protect your eyes, like the ‘20-20-20 rule’.

【COVID-19 會嚴重影響眼睛？！結膜炎、乾眼症等問題可導致眼腫和視力模糊！】

不僅是急性新冠患者，後新冠患者也有機會患上急性病毒性結膜炎、眼瞼板腺功能障礙、乾眼症等眼表疾病。眼睛表面有多重要？這些眼表症狀是什麽？它們如何影響我們的眼睛？我們應該如何處理、預防這些問題？觀看視頻，香港中文大學眼科學系莊金隆教授為您解答！

【Does COVID-19 seriously affect our eyes?】

Acute COVID-19 patients and even post COVID-19 patients may suffer from conjunctivitis, MGD and dry eye syndrome. How important is our ocular surface? What will be the common ocular surface symptoms? How will they affect our eyes? What should we do to treat/prevent these ocular surface diseases? Prof. Kelvin Chong from the Chinese University of Hong Kong is here to answer your questions!

🙋‍♂️What is ForeSee?
ForeSee is composed of a team of enthusiastic 👨‍🎓students who are dedicated to raising public awareness of 👁️vision care and eye health degradation prevention. Our project is currently under the support of the Student Innovation for Global Health Technology (SIGHT).

Starting the project in 2020, we have launched our comprehensive eye-care mobile app in Google Play Store and are currently working on the iOS version that is expected to release soon. At the same time, we are actively reaching out to 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧parents, 👨‍⚕️eye professionals, and 🏥non-profit organizations to organize different campaigns that serve our mission. We are now looking for new members to learn and 🙌contribute to this challenging but rewarding project.

🎯We are now recruiting Marketing Team Member!
Join us if you are interested. No worries if you are a freshman, you are very much welcome as long as you are willing to learn! However, we prefer candidates that can contribute for at least 2️⃣ semesters(Winter/Summer also counts as one semester).

今個夏天，喺深水埗區，我哋成功舉辦咗一場專為家長同小朋友而設嘅眼部健康意識活動🤝，並與COMEDI Health 和Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVHK) 合作。衷心感謝i-SEE Vision Care Limited 的CEO Humphrey Cheung先生同埋其他專家分享眼睛健康及預防眼疾嘅知識。活動中嘅免費眼睛檢查、眼部保養應用程式嘅介紹 和眼護指導，全部都受到家長同埋小朋友嘅熱烈歡迎！👀🌟

This Summer, we successfully hosted an eye health awareness session in Sham Shui Po tailored for parents and their children, in collaboration with COMEDI Health and Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVHK)🤝. 【🔍解釋】
青光眼是一種常見的眼部疾病，會損害其中連接眼睛👀和大腦🧠的視神經，導致視力減退和失明。 這通常是由於眼睛前部積液，增加了眼內壓力。青光眼造成的損傷是不可逆轉的🧐激光✅是其中一種治療青光眼的方法，透過排出房水以降低眼壓，減慢視覺功能受損和防止視力惡化👁️。

【🔍Explanation】
Glaucoma is a common eye condition where the optic nerve, which connects the eye👀 to the brain🧠, becomes damaged, leading to vision loss and blindness. It's usually caused by fluid building up in the front part of the eye, which increases pressure inside the eye. The damage caused by glaucoma cannot be reversed.🧐 Laser surgery✅is one of the treatment options towards Glaucoma to help drain fluid within the eye and lower eye pressure, thus help slow and prevent vision loss👁️.

【一眨眼的功夫？】👀👀

我們常用「 一眨眼之間 」來形容速度很快💨。例如：「 他跑得很快🏃🏻，一眨眼就不見了。 」你有沒有想過為什麼要用「眨眼」來形容呢？🤔🤔

這是因為眼睛是人體動得最快的肌肉！😮所以說快得如眨眼是最貼切不過了。😉

【In The Blink of An Eye?】👀👀

We often use ‘in the blink of an eye’ to describe the fast speed💨. For example, ‘He runs away in the blink of an eye🏃🏻.’ Yet, have you ever wondered why we would use eye-blinking to describe?🤔🤔

This is because the eye is the fastest muscle in your body! 😮Hence, saying as fast as blinking your eyes is the most suitable way. 😉
