What do you look for when buying tea? Its packaging?
https://youtu.be/4dDk7Kwk-Mw

One can’t judge a book by its cover, same rule applies to tea. Tea appraisal includes visual analysis on the dry leaves, the liquor, as well as the wet leaves. Tea appraisal also includes tasting, sniffing and feeling. That’s at the end of video, Master Leung mentions “we have to test a tea through our bodies”. It means one has also to observe our physical reactions from drinking a tea. For example, if one would feel dizziness, one’s tongue get numbed, or one’s stomach gets irritated. These reactions reflect the quality of a tea.

Some people may ask, if I buy from well-branded companies, who is well known of their qualities, it should be safe, right? Yes and no. Unless you buy directly from those companies instead of an intermediary, it’s hard to guarantee. The quality of a tea is not only affected by the source of raw material and craftsmanship, but also its storage. Therefore, it makes it harder to judge the quality of a tea through its packaging, even the tea is from a well-branded company. Another challenge is that some unethical dealers may counterfeit the well-branded companies’ packaging. It may sound unbelievable, but it does happen.

Therefore, one can’t judge a tea by its packaging.
