Young people do not always tell adults directly that they are struggling.

Sometimes the first indication is a change in behaviour, mood, relationships or their ability to cope with everyday demands.

Youth Mental Health First Aid gives adults an evidence-based framework for recognising developing mental health problems and providing appropriate initial support.

Participants learn how to:
• Recognise warning signs that a young person may be experiencing a mental health problem
• Approach and speak with a young person about their mental health
• Respond appropriately when a young person may be experiencing a crisis

Hong Kong workplaces bring together people with different first languages, cultural expectations and experiences of authority, privacy and support.

That diversity can strengthen teams, but it can also shape how difficult conversations are understood.

A person may say “yes” because disagreeing feels uncomfortable.
A colleague may avoid direct eye contact as a sign of respect.
Someone may struggle to describe distress in their second or third language.
A manager may believe they have invited openness, while hierarchy still makes speaking difficult.

Our new LinkedIn article explores how workplaces can approach these conversations with greater clarity and care, without relying on stereotypes or expecting staff to become cultural experts.

The focus is practical:
• Use clearer language
• Check understanding
• Explain next steps
• Recognise the effect of hierarchy
• Allow more time and different ways to respond

For teams that want to strengthen communication, listening, referral and boundary skills, Bridge of Support 支持之橋 can be delivered as private group training.

Middle leadership requires much more than managing tasks.

It can involve noticing when a member of staff is under pressure, addressing problems before they grow, communicating difficult decisions and creating an environment where people feel able to speak honestly.

Our School Middle Leaders: Wellbeing and Psychological Safety course brings these responsibilities together in a practical one-day format.

Participants will examine how to:
• Respond appropriately when stress or burnout begins affecting staff
• Lead difficult conversations with clarity and appropriate boundaries
• Create conditions that support openness, questions and constructive discussion
