A Rewarding Trip – and 2026 🇦🇹
🎯 One important mission when pitching on global stages is to relentlessly drive and share how we are turning our vision into action:

To replace fossil plastics and tackle the plastic problem at its root, addressing the essential, high-performance, high-usage disposable applications that people rely on every day — from medical masks and gowns to personal care products and beyond.

We are not another bioplastic packaging playbook. Our ambition is to set the new standard for next-generation high-performance material solutions.

Throughout the program, I had the privilege of speaking with VCs, government funds, impact investors, angel investors, founders, innovators, and corporate leaders from around the world who showed strong interest in what OKOsix is building.

🚀 Beyond the conversations, I could also feel the pace is accelerating, and the driving forces behind the circular transition are increasingly moving into action across Europe.

These experiences reinforced the urgency to build faster and execute stronger for our stakeholders. 💪

The future of circularity will not be driven by sustainability alone — it also needs to make business sense and create real economic value.

[OKOsix Update!!] 🥁

Excited to share that ÖKOSIX took part in the signing ceremony yesterday, marking the launch of operations at the new Shenzhen Hetao–Hong Kong Youth Innovation Hub (科學園深圳分園－河套香港青年科創谷), established by the Hong Kong Science Park - under its “One Ecosystem, Two Cities” strategy.

🏢 Our Shenzhen office positions us to better serve clients operating in China as sales grow. It will serve as our Mainland China headquarters, where we plan to recruit scientists and R&D talent, and establish our first factory outside of Hong Kong.

👩‍🏫 👨‍🏫 Beyond expansion, this move strengthens our cross-border R&D and commercialization capabilities, while giving us closer access to advanced manufacturing, deep-tech talent, and faster prototyping across the Greater Bay Area.

🇭🇰 With strong policy backing, Hong Kong’s long-term commitment to I&T development is further reinforced in the latest Budget by Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, including a proposed HK$10 billion ($1.28 billion) to accelerate development of the Hong Kong Park and strengthen startup and venture support.

We are grateful to be part of this new chapter: building from Hong Kong, scaling through Shenzhen, and connecting to the world. 🌏

🏆 Prof. Toste is Chair of the Dept. of Chemistry at UC Berkeley, The Gerald E. K. Branch Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, and a faculty scientist at the chemical sciences division of Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his pioneering work in chemical synthesis and catalytic innovation.
