Dawner Prince Electronics HIGH-END GUITAR EFFECTS AND MUSIC ELECTRONICS | HANDMADE IN CROATIA

…Back in the homeland of Nikola Tesla, in the land of inspiration, is where Dawner Prince brand was brought to power. It was founded in 2009 and ever since we have been manipulating electricity and turning it into sonic art. Our effects pedals are high-end music devices and we strive to maintain that level in every aspect. New approaches and innovative ideas in electronics are incorporated into th

e circuitries, making them more reliable, and endowing them with studio sound quality. Each and every pedal is polished with innovativeness, versatility, functionality and aesthetics - all carefully hand made in Croatia, EU. Our great wish is to spread the same inspiration, energy and love we feel while designing and producing our effects pedals to the pedalboards all over the world.

Why did we decide to pair an Alembic-style preamp with the Yamaha RA-200 rotary cabinet emulator in Eclipsa?

Alongside the complex rotary system of the Yamaha RA-200, the preamp stage also plays an important role in the overall sound.

The original RA-200 includes its own amplification and EQ, and sounds excellent—but it leans toward the darker side. For that reason, some well-known guitarists, particularly members of Pink Floyd, paired it with the Alembic F-2B tube preamp to achieve a brighter, more articulate response.

We followed a similar approach in the Eclipsa design, pairing the rotary section with an Alembic-style preamp to open up the top end and improve clarity.

Additionally, we made a few adjustments to the preamp itself - refining the low-end response, tuning it more toward guitar frequencies, and improving impedance matching so it integrates better with the rest of the circuit.
There is also a switch option to keep the preamp always on as a buffer.

The RA-200 and Alembic preamp are a classic combination that’s been used historically, and it just works really well - for a reason.

Guitar World has published an interview with Zoran Kraljević, founder and designer at Dawner Prince Electronics, recognized as a relevant voice on the Binson Echorec.
He talks about the legendary Binson, its influence on generations of guitarists, and how it inspired the development of the Boonar.

Fun fact: we bet you did not know, Zoran designed the first Boonar without ever using a real Echorec!

If you have even the most passing familiarity with Pink Floyd, you've heard an ethereal soundscape generated by the Binson Echorec. This is what it is, the unit's fascinating inner workings, and why it still matters
