Hypnos is the primary Greek deity of sleep, acting as the personification of peaceful slumber and rest, often depicted as a winged youth. Son of Nyx (Night) and Erebus (Darkness), he dwells in the underworld on Lemnos, bringing rest to mortals and gods. His Roman equivalent is Somnus. Known for putting Zeus to sleep at Hera's request during the Trojan War.
