The conversation around feeling better in Europe often turns into blaming a specific ingredient in American food. But it’s not always that simple.

As I shared in this article, the overall dietary pattern matters more than blaming a single American ingredient.

Through their K-12 certification program, more than 1 million students already have access to healthier school food options, and that's just the beginning.

I partnered with@crispygreensnacks on this article featured in Perishable News that talks about cutting back on sugar this summer!

““Parents don’t have to overhaul their family’s diet overnight,” said Dr. Avena. “Small changes can make a meaningful difference. One of the simplest places to start is by looking at the foods children snack on most often. Start with one better snack choice and build from there.”

Did you know the average child in America consumes a bathtub full of added sugar per year, which is greater than 65+ pounds?!

Excess added sugar intake is one of many reasons why more and more children are becoming impacted by obesity and chronic diseases.

I am excited to be a part of ’s advisory board and see the impact they are making on poor nutrition in America. Their K-12 certification program is already reaching over 1 million students with nutritious, delicious, responsibly sourced school meals — and expanding.
