Hello beautiful beings,
Yes, this post is a little late arriving into your newsfeed, but I'm still here! And jumping on to share a big heart felt thank you to all of you who joined me over the past 4 or so months online to keep the spirit of yoga alive amidst the challenging times that 2020 has dished up. As much as I was able to support you all, it was so important for me to show up too. I'm really grateful for our exchange. Thank you.
I invite you to acknowledge your efforts and commitment to yourself this year. It's been a gravel pitted road for many. Not always easy to show up and lean in. But you did it - you showed up, on the mat, from many distant corners of the state (and country), behind the weirdness of a screen. Not only that, trusted me to be able to still provide what you needed minus the physical presence. To hold space for you from afar. It was a learning curve for all of us! But you trusted, and you showed up first and foremost for yourself, to fill your cup. And I am so very proud of you.
I recently made the decision to cease online classes for now as life got busier for many and more difficult to make class, and I totally understand. Let's hope life here flows with restrictions and the pandemic situation easing so that we can all remain practicing in person at our favourite studio or outdoors together, in nature.
But in light of recent outbreaks and border changes again in WA, if for some unfortunate reason lockdown arises again, we can definitely revisit coming together again in our virtual studio or through pre-recorded practices. Many possibilities.
As a teacher, I am here to serve you and support you in maintaining the wellbeing of your body, mind and heart, as best I can with whatever the world is throwing us at the time.
In saying that, I am taking a little time out from teaching for the time being to get some ducks in a row (life admin, I call it!) with my newish/current job, enjoy the festive season, and hopefully some Perth Summer vibes (if the weather ever chooses to cooperate!). But you know me, as always, I will be creating on the side and planning for some new offerings in 2021, for both Yoga Blu and Wild Awake - transformative travel combined.
Watch this space ❤
I will also be undertaking NLP facilitator training back in QLD (may the borders be open!) and some other supportive modalities in the first half of the year and look forward to adding these skills to my magic bag of tricks. I was blessed to win a scholarship a couple of months back while studying with the amazing Judy King! And can't wait to continue the journey with this wonderful Queen ❤ (If you're curious check out her work www.thejudyking.com )
But right here, right now. I'd love to know how are you all feeling? Are you finding a new groove? What silver linings have revealed themselves to you during these 'unprecedented' times? Believe me, they are there. Trust this. Lift the veil. And remember that whatever this year has thrown you, you are braver than you think.
The world has changed, especially in the name of how we move about and explore. For many of us, that has felt like we have had our wings clipped, and there has been a certain sense of loss that has gone a long with it. But within that space and stillness and having to 'just be', what has been revealed to many is just how resourceful we are (within) and that a the power of community still remains. Whether that be on the same street or online with your ever expanding global community. And how amazing is it to be reminded of that or even discover it at the perfect time? Connection is everywhere. If we choose to stay open to it. Sometimes that can be tough, can feel extremely vulnerable. But your tribe is out there and you don't have to walk this journey alone.
As part of the collective experience, you are still the amazing master and creator of your life. Whatever happens around you, whatever changes or curveballs you have experienced this past year, don't forget that. You can choose in every moment how to live it, how to feel, what to let go of, what to invite in and what action to take. Remember, it all begins with you. This is your life, no one else's. Honour it. Feel the lows (deeply), celebrate the highs and embrace that divine space and equilibrium in between.
Be present. Be conscious. Be curious. And, be brave.
Stay connected to that innate pot of love residing right there inside of you. Right there in your heart. Nothing, or no-one, can ever take that away from you.
Breathe.
Deep.
So, I didn't plan on those words (not uncommon), but not everything goes to plan. Or does it? So I'll just go with it and I hope something within this resonates with you today.
In essence, my invitation to you is let's stay connected. Even if it's not on the mat right now. I am still here. We are all still here. Feel free to reach out. If I can send you some links for home practice, meditations, or if you would like some other inspiration or leads, let me know.
And we can always keep dreaming of adventures and travels together again one day. (I do!
