Have you made a switched of one of these yet? 😀
1. Social distancing/self-isolating could be just the time to try out those intimidating zero waste swaps that could go terribly wrong. 🤷♀️⠀
⠀
Inspired by one of 's recent posts, I created this short guide to low waste replacements for personal care products that might take a little getting used to. 👇⠀
⠀
💚 1. Menstrual Cup: This one can be challenging to use at first, figuring out how to insert, remove, clean, etc. so I waited to try this one out when I would be staying mostly inside for a couple of days.⠀
⠀
💚 2. Washable Pads: Though not as difficult to get used to as menstrual cups, I think this one also makes for a great candidate for at-home testing!⠀
⠀
💚 3. Shampoo Bars: It could take a few tries to find the right shampoo bar that doesn't dry your hair out. But what better time to experiment when we're mostly socializing via video call?⠀
⠀
💚 4. Metal Razor: Nervous about cutting yourself with a safety razor? Now could be a great time to test it out low risk.⠀
⠀
💚 5. Bidet Attachment: With toilet paper flying off the shelves, bidets are gaining in popularity. I love my bidet attachment!
⠀
💚 6. Homemade Deodorant: This is another one that involves some trial and error. I've tried many natural deodorants that have been fails... but I finally found a DIY recipe that works — I was glad, though, that I could trial it without having to go in public just in case 🙈
Is there a zerowaste swap that you’ve tried or plan to try while in quarantine/social distancing?
