I started learn acoustic guitar last year as a way to honour my grief for a long time friend and for my mother who’s 90. I recorded this song in honour of them both.

I didn’t play guitar on this track thanks to Agung Pramana for playing guitar and recording the song with me.

Using your own voice is a very powerful tool to Empower and release emotions.

In general society we have become detached from
our own voice. As children we would sing and dance as we wished. Being in the moment of our own joy!

As adults we are told we can’t sing and start to suppress ourselves through our using this sacred healing instrument we all have.

Rouzbeh sings this song to let help us let go of our feelings through singing this simple song. Traditionally it was sung in Burkina Faso at funerals but equally we can sing it to let go of what no longer serves us and liberate our voice. At the same time healing our self through the frequency of our own voice, as we are 70 percent water the sound vibrates throughout our whole body repairing the cells and uplifting our soul. In times of change we can voice our emotions through using this simple song.

I hope you find this song a way to find deep peace in times of transformation.

I was recently interviewed by Elinor Moshe on her podcast Deconstructing You - Life Unravelled in Five Minutes, Dark Night of the Soul

Alice Readman has had a varied career, from her 20’s as a bass player in the UK indie band “the auteurs”, to retraining in photography and working for top UK magazine companies. In her 40’s she retrained as a graphic designer and started a married life.

Her life completely changed one day when her 5 year marriage came to a sudden end, her husband announced he was having an affair and no longer wanted their 2 adopted children; they were meeting the next day.

Alice suffered from acute stress and alongside a spiritual awakening and mental breakdown. She was eventually sectioned in an NHS hospital for 28 days. This marked the beginning of her new life.

She has recently published her book, I Am Alice, Break up, Breakdown, Breakthrough, telling her own deeply personal story of transformation and growth. She wrote the book as writing and journaling had been a tool that

had supported her through her dark night of the soul.

Last year I finally started a podcast. I really wanted to talk to people about their personal transformations. I had gone through a huge shift back in 2014 and I knew I was alone in my experience. We are all going through a huge transformation on many levels.

My first guest was Chris Prawita and we spoke about chanting and how it can support you going through change. I had used a mantra back in 2014 to support me through a loss in my life and Chris shared with me her experiences in the first podcast.

Chris followed her dream of moving to Ubud, Bali from Jakarta and creating a beautiful sound healing dome shaped building called Askara. It’s a sacred space for transformation and change.

My podcast is about the importance of connection, creativity and finding clarity in the ever changing world we live in.

Do what inspires you and you will inspire everyone around you and find more joy within.

What do you love? Write a list, as sometimes we forget and we go off our path?
Dream in what you would love to do, feel, touch, be in the experience? Anything is possible, we can create our lives step by step with the choices we make.

I was faced will having to create a whole new life back in 2014. I had to make it up. During this time of transition, I created a vision of my future self. I wanted to live abroad and create a whole new way of living life and new inspiring experiences!
I didn’t know where it would be or what or how I would do it, but I just took one step at a time and slowly but surely my new reality was created.
After traveling for 5 months I flew to Bali and ended up staying here in Bali and 7 years later my life has changed and I have never looked back!

During that time I wrote my book, designed some jewellery inspired by my book and last year I started a podcast to talk about connection, creativity and finding clarity in this ever changing world we live in.

I could never of dreamed this life up, but it happened. Always remember anything is possible! Believe, take action and surrender to the flow of life!

I read the first chapter of my book I Am Alice, Break up, Breakdown, Breakthrough, a true adventure story.

When we share our experiences and truth, we liberate ourselves from our past and support others in sharing their stories.

Our personal truth is all we have and getting in touch with our own feelings is the key to change all aspects of our lives that no longer serve us. We begin our lives over and over and create the new life, a life of authenticity!

A New Doorway to Managing Grief

What I am learning about Grief?

Grief isn’t something we ever want to experience, but in our lives it’s going to happen to all of us.

Going through a prolonged experience of grief recently, I have come to a whole new “inner standing” on how I can honour myself and the people I am losing in this physical life.

I hope you can explore with me, a new way of processing your deep emotions through creativity and personal expression; which is liberating and brings some joy into our complicated emotions around grief and loss.
