If you are seeking a better partner who will actually respect you, EMBODY in yourself what you are looking for in them

I’ve said it for years and I still stand by it

Work on the foundations first - your body, your health, your personal standards

It is your base, the very vehicle that carries you through this game we call life

When you start treating your health and body with respect and love, over time things change

Not just your body and fitness

But your habits, your boundaries, how you spend time, who you spend time with

You build character in the process, your identity shifts

And with a shift in identity, your values change

In how you choose to live your life, but equally what you seek in others

This is what attracts a better partner who respects you

Because YOU respect YOU

You LOVE you first!

That gains respect

And when you find that in yourself, you don’t want to settle for anything less, so you seek that in your partner, and vice versa

That doesn’t mean you land the perfect, challenge free relationship - hell no!

Everyone has their scars, wounds and areas to still work on

But entering a relationship on strong foundations like this with shared values built from self love and self respect…

It’s a great way to start

What you think?

Is it women struggling to find committed men, or men struggling to commit to women? We’ve had many conversations on this...

Is it women struggling to find committed men, or men struggling to commit to women?

We’ve had many conversations on this over the last year and here’s what we keep finding

Women are blaming men

And men are blaming women

Here’s what we think

It’s both!

Awakened women aren’t rejecting men

They’ve built self-respect to stop settling for men who aren’t doing their own healing work

That’s not pickiness, that’s having standards

Women don’t want to mother a boy in a man’s body

At the same time, a lot of men are quietly checking out of dating

Either, because they are not doing the work on themselves and are intimidated by a strong, grounded woman

Or, because they’re tired of relationships that feel like a performance review

Being handed demands without ever being asked what their needs are

Men need appreciation in a relationship, not constantly told of their shortcomings

Add in the fact that everyone’s more ā€œawareā€ now, and awareness has started working against us

Healing has become the excuse for never being ready

Tip toeing by being overcautious

Let us remind you of something we think many people have forgot

Nobody comes into a relationship without wounds

Your partner isn’t supposed to be the person who has none

They’re the person who shows you where yours still are, and gives you a safe space to look and work on them, whilst also working on their own

It’s true for us too, what we have isn’t perfect, we’re continuously working on it, still triggered by each other sometimes

But that’s exactly where the growth has come from

The secret ingredient to having that safety and growing together through those triggers is to be curious and willing enough to look inside, whilst equally having that same curiosity in each other

Instead of pointing the finger blaming, critizing, and belittling each other

Because when you do this, as the saying goes:

ā€œWhen you point the finger, there’s always 3 pointing back at youā€

Keel that in mind when you enter a relationship

Because that’s how true healthy relationships are built, not just something that lands on your doorstep without effort

What were first impressions of each other when we first met 8 years ago?

02/08/2026

I used to say for years ā€œHome is wherever Anna isā€

Sounds cute when you read it right?

But earlier this year when I was in a dark place mentally, Anna asked me the most powerful question in our 8 years together

ā€œHave you ever felt home within yourself?ā€

That questions cut straight through me, like it went through the timeline of my life and all the versions of myself i’ve ever been

With a golfball emerging in my throat I realised i’ve never felt home within myself

Always relied on where I was, or who I was with for that sense of safety and comfort

Which on realisation, is a massive problem!

It explained why whenever Anna was away, and I was alone, or when I was away from people I loved, i’d go into a pit of self sabotage, poor standards, p**n, isolation, and a familiar feeling that had been running my life

A deep sense of worthlessness and abandonment

That question inspired me to finally go inwards and reconnect with myself, healing the deep wounds carried through my life, and build a relationship with the parts of me who had been locked away for so long

Through IFS therapy i’ve uncovered and healed many parts that were carrying such pain that were quietly shaping my reality, causing the same familiar patterns holding me back in life

As dark and emotional as it’s been, going inwards, meeting all versions of myself, and simply saying ā€œHey Ryan, i’m here, i’m listening, we’re in this togetherā€ - has been the most liberating feeling in my life

I’ve discovered more peace, presence, childlike joy, happiness, and love like i’ve never experienced

Not just towards Anna, but to myself

It’s still a work in progress, but i’m feeling more home within myself for the first time in my life

That’s why I can now say with confidence, if any of you want a stronger, healthier relationship, and to build the life you want

Going inwards, healing your wounds of shame, judgment, abandonment, worthlessness etc, and becoming one with yourself, where you truly love every part of you

That’s freedom!

That’s where home really is šŸ«¶šŸ

The simple hack for a relationship full of fun and laughter? Find someone who’s just as weird as you, and loves you for it

People often mistake the ā€˜Nice Guy Syndrome’ for being a genuinely good man

They’re not the same thing

A good man has boundaries

He can disappoint people without fear of rejection, when it’s come from self respect

He speaks honestly, even when it feels uncomfortable

The nice guy often can’t

His kindness is frequently driven by a fear of rejection, conflict or not being enough

His deep unhealed wound is of feeling worthless

So he says yes when he means no

He suppresses his needs to keep the peace

He does everything he can to feel needed and wanted

He looks for validation instead of building self-respect

Ironically, the more he tries to earn love through always saying yes, the further away it often feels

Healthy relationships aren’t built on self-sacrifice and disregarding ones own needs just to always please others

They’re built on two people who can both show up honestly, and demonstrate healthy boundaries without fear or worry of rejection

Men disengage when they are starved of appreciation

One thing I’ve consistently heard time and time again with men is that many don’t feel seen for what they do, only for what they didn’t do.

They hear where they fell short.

Rarely where they showed up.

A genuine, ā€œI really appreciate when you...ā€ can carry far more weight than you realise.

For some men, it reinforces that they’re valued.

For others, it helps quiet years of feeling like they’ll never be enough.

It’s something as a man, I really value in Anna because even in the small things I do, she acknowledges it and lets me know, and for that, I appreciate it a lot.

Appreciation won’t solve every relationship problem.

Communication, trust and emotional maturity all matter too.

But if your man seems quieter, more distant, disengaged, or always answers, ā€œI’m fine,ā€ it may be worth asking yourself:

ā€œWhen was the last time I showed genuine appreciation, or am I always pointing out his shortcomings?ā€
