Where most digital experiences simulate calm, Where The Wild Love Is (WTWLI) is designed to evoke that edge of awe. It’s a form of biophonic meditation, blending instrumental music with wildlife sound and art, creating a sensory field that reconnects the nervous system to scale, aliveness, and otherness.

The wellness market is now worth $2 trillion, with hundreds of millions of users turning to meditation apps, sleep apps, and soundscapes which don't connect us with wildness. They help us relax, but they have limits. They don’t shift the deeper stress system. They don’t create real co-regulation. And they don’t produce awe.

Awe is not relaxation. It’s reorganisation. It happens when you encounter something so vast that your sense of self becomes smaller, not diminished, but recalibrated. Psychologically, it requires perceived vastness and the need to expand your mental framework to take it in. One elevates you, the other unsettles you. Together, they create a state that changes how we see ourselves and the world.

This is what happens when we encounter something that feels truly alive. The brain can’t categorise it, so it reorganises. And that reorganisation is what makes awe so powerful.

Not passive listening. Not background noise. But an experience that shifts perception and moves people closer to something real.

We’ve become very good at simulating calm.
It’s time to design for something deeper.

Find your awe moment.

There’s a quiet assumption baked into a lot of AI optimism: that if we can model a sound accurately enough, we can reproduce its effect. But biophonic sound might be where that assumption breaks.

German researchers published this year: paying deliberate attention to birdsong while walking in nature measurably boosts wellbeing and reduces stress.

Not background noise.
Attention to it.

Your nervous system evolved inside a biophonic world — a world of layered animal sound, wind, water, the acoustic texture of living ecosystems.
It spent 4 million years calibrated to that frequency.

It has spent 200 years being asked to adapt to something completely different.

The body knows what it needs.
The question is whether you'll be quiet enough to let it have it.

Where The Wild Love Is is built on exactly this.
Wildlife sound as medicine. For those who recognise the signal.
