βοΈ Protect the little ones this summer βοΈ
Children's skin is more sensitive and burns more easily β so a bit of sun safety today goes a long way towards healthier skin tomorrow. π
5 ways to keep them protected:
π Cover up β lightweight, long-sleeved clothing and a wide-brimmed hat
𧴠Apply sunscreen β broad-spectrum SPF 30+, 15 mins before heading out, and reapply every 2 hours (or after swimming or sweating)
β±οΈ Seek shade β especially between 10am and 4pm when the sun is strongest
πΆοΈ Wear sunglasses β ones that block 100% UVA and UVB rays
π§ Stay hydrated β plenty of water throughout the day
Caught a bit too much sun? Here's how to help:
πΏ Cool it down with a lukewarm shower or cool compress (skip the ice)
πΏ Soothe with aloe vera or a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser
π§ Offer extra fluids to rehydrate
π Reduce pain with children's ibuprofen or paracetamol if needed β always follow the label
π΄ Keep skin covered and rest until healed
β οΈ Seek medical help if your child has blistering, severe pain, fever, chills, nausea, dizziness, or sunburn over a large area.
