Histamine is a natural chemical your body releases to protect you from danger. It acts like an internal alarm system. When your body detects a threat (like bacteria, a virus, or an allergen), it floods the area with histamine to kickstart the healing process.
How it affects your body
Nose & Eyes: Causes swelling, runniness, sneezing, and itching to flush out invaders.
Skin: Creates red, itchy, and swollen bumps like hives.
Lungs: Tightens your airways, which can make you cough or wheeze.
Stomach: Makes acid to help digest food, but too much can cause cramps or diarrhea.
Brain: Keeps you awake, alert, and focused during the day.
