Hairy Henry Hairy Henry offers Therapeutic Riding, Care Farming and Animal-assisted Therapy to children and adul All have been trained specifically for this job.

We offer Therapeutic Riding sessions and Care Farm activities on our small farm in West Cork. Our team consists of Sandra, a fully qualified Therapeutic Riding Coach with 28 years experience of working with horses and 24 years of working in the health and social sector, and our extremely friendly and experienced therapy horses, Henry, Winnie, Flora, Daisy and Dolly, and lots of other farm animals

- our two dogs Trudi and Turnip, the flock of sheep - Sean, Otto, Tilda, Harriet and Mr. Lammy, the donkeys Nell, Eeyore, Gordon and Gulliver the geese and ducks and chicken and the rabbits Alex and Oreo and their families. We also offer animal-assisted therapeutic outreach visitis with our team of dogs, rabbits, sheep and donkey to nursing homes and hospitals - please get in touch for more information! And because life started getting bit dull, Skye decided to dispose of one of her shoes in the field, knowing well that she will miss it very much when she starts getting foot sore because she has such sensitive soles that even a grain of sand underfoot makes her flinch. Deep sigh. At least the hoof boot we were given by a friend who lost her dear steed fits Skye perfectly and gives her some protection for now. .....

A very special morning here at our Graduation ceremony for our Giddy Up & Go students. Demonstrations with the horses to show off learned skills, certificate ceremony, speeches and celebrations with cake and lemonade.
Our 2026 students set the standards very high for everyone to follow, what a fab group of young people, it was such a priviledge and pleasure to be working with them.

We are so proud of our four participants who are graduating from our Giddy Up & Go Programme today. After 12 weeks of intense learning, working, exploring and discovering, it is time to say good bye and wish our students well for their onward educational journey.

After the sad passing of Camilla, our little orphan baby guinea pigs are adapting fast to being pipette fed with goats milk. Fingers crossed they can cope with the change in nutrition, but that's our best chance as there is no guinea pig milk formula easily available unfortunately.
