Some advice from renowned athlete David Gillick on the importance of physical activity for physical and mental health, thanks to Ultrapure!
“Daily movement is one of the simplest ways to support both physical and mental wellbeing. It doesn’t always have to mean intense training - walking, stretching, running, gym sessions, or simply getting outside can all help you feel more balanced, focused and energised. Building small recovery habits around movement can also help you stay consistent and feel your best day to day.
• Sleep is everything
No sleep = no recovery. Aim for 7–9 hours a night where possible. Better sleep can help you feel more energised, focused, and ready for the day ahead.
• Eat well after exercise
Refuel with protein and carbs after training to help you stay fuelled and ready for your next session. Adding more vegetables and balanced meals is a simple way to support a healthy routine.
• Take time to switch off
A magnesium-rich Ultrapure Epsom Salts Bath or foot soak can be a great way to relax after training or a busy day. Even 10 minutes to unwind can help you reset and recharge.
• Support recovery
Apply Ultrapure Ice-Cold Menthol Gel after exercise, especially after long sessions or time spent on your feet. It is instantly cooling, soothing and refreshing for aching muscles and feet.
• Foam rolling and self-massage
Spend 5-10 minutes moving slowly and with control. Stretching, foam rolling, or self-massage alongside Ultrapure Essential Oil Muscle Rub Roll-On is a great addition to recovery routines or winding down before bed.
• Keep easy days easy
Listen to your body. If you’re feeling tired or low on energy, it’s okay to pull back or take a lighter session. Rest days are part of the process too. Rest, stay hydrated, eat well and make time to relax. “
