Launching my own private counselling practice this week was almost as scary as doing this sky jump! At the time, I didn’t know that this jump was going to be 13,000 feet! But I did it and it was exhilarating. Same for the new business, it was scary but exhilarating! Thank you for an amazing first week! I can honestly say I’ve been working on this for the last 3 years but really the last 20 years and today as it’s submitted for review, I feel so proud of this piece of work! It’s so interesting to read so once it’s marked, I’ll send it to anyone who’s interested in it. Needless to say, for a lot of my Dermalogica peers, the results will not come as a surprise as it is something we see day in and day out but it has implications for the wider health care arena and in particular the HSE for a cohesive approach to Dermatology. Psychotherapists and Dermatologists can both play a part in the holistic care of someone who is suffering with skin conditions. It’s good to talk! Dermalogica Ireland HSEIreland

Quest has worked really hard and was life changing for the person he supported. It costs over €50,000 to train a dog like Quest that provides this high level support.

The Power of Expectations: The Harvard Rat Study 🐀✨
In a famous experiment, researchers gave students identical lab rats but put them in cages labeled “Maze-Bright” or “Maze-Dull.”
The result? The “bright” rats actually performed better. 📈
The catch: There was no genetic difference. Because the students thought their rats were smarter, they handled them more gently and with more encouragement. The rats felt that energy and succeeded.
This is the Pygmalion Effect—the idea that our belief in someone (or ourselves) can literally change their performance.
The takeaway: Are you labeling your “rats” as dull or bright? Your expectations might be creating your reality. 🧠💡
