There are some doctors that can be a little mindbody DIS-connect with the respect/kindness/compassion side of things👀

(Shout out to all the lovely docs out there though🥰)

One of the biggest things I notice for my clients experiencing ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, Long Covid, burnout, anxiety, chronic pain and other persistent symptoms is how strongly perfectionism can show up during recovery. People are often thinking:

“I need to be doing everything perfectly to recover"
"I need to read more books and learn more in order to recover"
“I need to get better quickly.”
“I should be further along by now.”

And so the people who have often spent years before they got sick living under a lot of pressure, striving, pushing, and trying to get everything right… continues to experience more pressure!

This is something I actively work with in sessions. The tools, conversations and exploration we do in sessions is so valuable. But the energy we bring to them matters most.

If recovery becomes another project to optimise, another performance to perfect, or another high standard to meet, we can unintentionally keep repeating the same pattern in a different form. In sessions we work towards noticing when perfectionism is showing up, and gently starting to create a space for new habits, lovely new neural pathways to develop and new ways of engaging with the fear that is underlying the perfectionism. We bring in more compassion, more curiosity and more permission to be human! My hope is that in our sessions we will support you in building a relationship with yourself that feels safer, kinder, and more sustainable than the one that existed before.

The most important thing to remember is that your body and your emotional brain does not need you to be perfect or for everything to be perfect in order to recover.

🌸If this resonates with you, and you'd like not just tools, and conversations that uncover the root of your symptoms, but someone also holding up a compassionate mirror and celebrating you, I'd love to hear from you! You can get in touch via email or book a free 30 minute consultation at the link in my bio.

Thanks for being here,
Keelin❤️

I hear these fears so often from people who have been experiencing  ME/CFS, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Long Covid, anxiety, chronic pain and other symptoms.

And that fear is completely valid and understandable.

If your body has felt unpredictable, if you’ve had frightening symptoms, if you’ve been told conflicting things, or if you’ve experienced an influx of symptoms when you thought things were improving, fear is a completely understandable response!

Especially as clients' energy improves and symptoms reduce, they might notice a bit of fear coming up around- going outside if they’ve been housebound, going back to exercise, trying a new hobby or going travelling for the first time in a long time.

This is an entirely normal part of the journey.

In our sessions, we don’t push through fear, ignore or suppress it. Fear is a question, a request for missing information. It’s simply asking “Are we safe? Will we be okay? How’s this going to go?” The problem is that we often take fear as a confirmation that we aren’t safe instead. Or the thinking brain jumps in and says- you don’t know what will happen? I've got you, here’s all the worst possible case scenarios so we are well prepared! And there we have a very unpleasant overthinking spiral🙈

I work with clients to approach fear in a new way and work towards building safety and trust at a speed they’re comfortable with. There is nothing wrong with fear! It’s how we navigate it that matters.

🌸If this resonates on your recovery journey, and you feel like fear is a bit of a sticking point for you, I’d really love to hear where you’re at and explore how I can support you with this. I offer a free 30 minute consultation, which you can book at the link in my bio, or you can reach out via email

Keelin❤️

Last week I saw the GP I was with when I got sick, for the first time since before my recovery.

As I was leaving her office, I popped my head back in and said, "You still have my fibromyalgia diagnosis on file, right?" She said yes, and I shared that I had recovered since the last time we had seen each other.

She was amazed and delighted for me and immediately asked what the key to my recovery had been.

I spoke about the MindBody Reconnect, the connection between our emotions and physical symptoms, and how exploring that and making changes from there helped me recover, before eventually going on to train as a practitioner myself.

Then came the part that made me so happy…

She told me she was currently reading a book that explores this and was loving it! She was so delighted to hear about my recovery, and took my details for her other patients.

I have to be honest and say I’ve had so many negative experiences with doctors where I felt dismissed, disrespected, hopeless, or had to fight really hard to get clear information about my health. I know you likely have experienced the same.

So I wanted to share this because it was so lovely to have this positive interaction.

There are so many doctors who deeply want to help people with chronic symptoms, but just don't have the knowlege around the mind-body connection and how it can support people with chronic illnesses. It's wonderful to see doctors being curious and open to learning about it❤️

A fascinating study by Dr Sarah Cefai at Goldsmiths University of London.

It's wonderful to this study happening. Well done to Dr Sarah Cefai, and to Raelan Agle, MSW | CFS & Long COVID Recovery who has made a huge impact by creating a hub that so importantly sheds light on the possibility of recovery. I look forward to seeing recovery being studied more and more, and- I hope- integration of this knowledge by services like the NHS in the future!

I've been getting everything ready this week before taking a week and a half off, and if you're self-employed or run your own business, you'll probably understand just how much preparation goes into that🫠

When you work for yourself, there isn't anyone to cover for you. Everything pauses while you're away. That’s why most business owners I know don’t really take proper time off (as in no emails, no social media, no messages, no nothing!).

I'm lucky that my family comes to visit in the summer, and because they live in another country, that time together feels super precious. It's something I don’t want to hectically squeeze in around work and not be fully present for.

But I remember a few years ago telling my best friend that I wasn't sure how much time I could really take off while they were visiting. He very kindly (and firmly😂) gave me such a talking to about this magical thing called annual leave! He told me how much he got each year and then pointed out how little I was giving myself.

It was a reminder that just because you work for yourself doesn't mean you don't deserve a break. In fact it probably means you need the break even more! It sounds so obvious, but honestly... it was kind of groundbreaking for me to hear. Trust your friends to always hold that self-compassionate mirror up!

Since becoming a practitioner, I've always been taught how important it is to take proper time off. In this work we hold so many stories and a deep space for our clients. To do that, it is important to take time to recharge. Not to mention to take time away from running a business and all that entails behind the scenes! So every Christmas and every summer, I now make a point of taking a proper break.

This post is in part a reminder that I'll be away from 8th–17th July🤣 I'll be away from my inbox during that time too. You can book consultations for when I return through my booking system, and there's lots of information about my work, pricing and testimonials over on my website if you have any questions in the meantime!

But more than anything, this is a little reminder to my fellow coaches, practitioners...

The biggest shifts I see in my clients' health and lives happen when they give themselves consistent support and the space to truly engage with the work...

Healing is not linear (I wish it was!) There are great weeks where things feel like they are clicking into place, symptoms are lifting, confidence is growing and life feels bigger again. And then there can be harder weeks too where symptoms might increase, something new happens or an old pattern shows up. Oftentimes I see clients become discouraged during these moments and feel tempted to pull away from support right when they most need to be held through that part of the journey.

This package creates a safe space for both.

It means you have someone alongside you through the wins, the challenges, the celebrations, the fears, the breakthroughs as well as the moments where you have no idea what your body is doing!

Many clients also come to this work after years of feeling dismissed, unsupported or left to navigate things alone so having a consistent touchstone each week to feel heard, understood and supported can feel incredibly healing in itself.

The package includes:

🌸10 sessions, which can be accessed over the course of a year

🌸€800 investment

🌸Equivalent to 2 sessions free, a saving of €200 overall/€20 per session)

On average most clients require approximately 8-12 sessions (although it can be less or more) to create the deeper shifts we are working towards, making this an effective option. We review your progress after ten sessions with the option to continue on a session-by-session basis if needed.

Excuse me, we're pausing to celebrate that first!🎉🎉🎉

Yes, this work is about having space and tools to explore the root cause of symptoms of Fibromaylgia, CFS, Burnout, IBS, Long Covid and more and start to unwravel some of this!

But this work is also about having a space to celebrate YOU and all the amazing progress on this journey!

If you feel drawn to having a compassionate space every week for yourself through each stage of your health journey, head to the link in my bio to book your free consultation🌸
