Sometimes the problem with recording outdoors is that it’s so blissfully distracting 🐿️🤣

The universe has slowed me down.

Developing my first YouTube video after a 9 day hiatus, my electricity went 🫠

So I’ve extended the hiatus one more day. Here is the intro for the episode though.

Maybe you need to hear this 🤣

The first follower interaction.

Instead of feeling proud, I felt shame.

This video is about imperfections, self judgement, honesty and the pressure we place on ourselves to have it all figured out.

In reality, it’s difficult to human and we’re all doing our very best within this miraculous, strange existence.

Truthfully, I’m still learning, still navigating and still human.

Music alters our perception.
It alters our mood.
It alters our state.

But so does everything else we consume.

Food.
Media.
Conversations.
Environments.

This video is a simple thought experiment exploring how deeply our nervous systems are influenced by what enters us, and what surrounds us.

Why do we have to suffer?

A question that’s been popping in and out of my head since I was a little boy. Some of my earliest memories are of me as a little being in bed finding it hard to sleep as I feared the idea of death.

As time has gone on and experience has been collected, these are a consolidation of what I’ve come up with thus far.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this question. What it means to suffer. Something that we all intimately experience both individually and collectively down here on earth.

Balance, a work in constant motion.

Before we find harmony within the collective, we are going to have to find it within.

Not an easy task by any means given the current state of society, but alas we keep getting back on the line. We keep trying. We do our best 🫶🏼

Have a beautiful day out there ⚖️

Balance is the theme of the week.

I spoke about this in detail whilst slacklining in a longer video yesterday.

I thought it would be nice to share this practice of mine. Seeing your time in front of you can be a profound experience.

It helps me to understand what behaviours I need to hold on to, and what ones aren’t serving my growth.

It might help you too 🙏🏻

Don’t be afraid to try.
Don’t be afraid to fail.
Don’t be afraid to fall.

Get back up. Keep returning to yourself.

Balance takes making mistakes. It takes a lot of effort. But eventually, it is rewards us with such joy.

These are the words of the slackline.
Amen

We were born sensitive.

Even writing this now, I struggle with voices in my head telling me to stop. Trying to protect me from bullies of the past. They protect me from the shame. They protect me from the embarrassment.

There is another voice in my head that guides me to share these thoughts. One that seems to know deep down that this is the truth for many of us males.

A beautiful future awaits us, if we understand that we as a collective are the ones in control of creating it. Perhaps that connecting to and honouring our emotions might be a good start 🙏🏻

5 years ago, singing to cows.

This was a time in life where I lived without social media, devoid of distraction. No strategy, no algorithm, no plan.

Just younger Evan doing his thing. I was looking back through old music videos and stumbled upon this so I wanted to give that man his flowers.

Looking back now, I’m grateful that somewhere along the line I haven’t lost that part of myself.

So this acts as a gentle reminder to stay close to the things that make you feel alive. The things that make you feel like you, even when nobody is watching 🍃
