As we prepare to celebrate International Women's day tomorrow on Monday March 8th, we celebrate all Women, all backgrounds, all creeds, all colors, all nationalities, all WOMEN.
Women share a blessed Energy of the Divine Feminine, we draw strength and love and power from our Sisters and not only our Biological Sisters but Sisters of The Earth.
I (and I'm sure you have to) have been blessed with the Kindness of Women who were strangers, the kindness of Women who were a part of my life during certain chapters, the kindness of Women who I am journeying this lifetime with.
I may not still be in touch with all but I still hold love and appreciation for all, as they each have helped shape my life for what it is today and my journey was influenced and changed by their presence. Those who I still journey with I hold dear in my heart for they bring joyful living to my life.
I remember sitting in a church in Sydney when I was living in Australia, I was going thru a very rough patch, I was in an(other) emotionally abusive relationship, I had left one and walked straight into a second, and I was very low, my self esteem in tatters, confidence shattered, feeling broken and tired.
One afternoon I sought refuge from my racing mind in a church. Engulfed in feelings of desperation, thoughts on how stupid could I Be, how stupid I must be for repeating that cycle again.
I sat alone tears streaming down my face, when a woman walked up behind me, came into my seat, caringly put her hand on my shoulder and asked if was I OK? And was there anything she could do to help, embarrassed I said No but she stayed and for a brief time she provided a sense of safety, assurance and kindness.
That was 17 years ago and I still remember that generosity of spirit, the support from a woman who had no obligation or reason to show care for me that day, perhaps my suffering was familiar to her, I'll never know but I'll always be grateful to her.
Thats what Women can do for Women, we can be aware of each other even strangers and lift each other up, we can support each other, respect each other, love each other and show true kindness to one another.
My intention this year on International Women's Day is that I remain committed to continuing my journey of personal growth as I learn more about who I am as a Woman and what I can contribute and that I also continue to unlearn old habits and beliefs that no longer contribute or serve either me or my sisters.
I remember and pray for any woman who is suffering in mind, body or any other way that perhaps I can't even know of as my life has kept me sheltered from the possible sufferings of some.
For the Women who are missing, who are being abused, who are living in desperation, I pray they find safety and peace.
I pray from my heart that the love that is possible on this Earth is realised, that the love which is present in each and every human, even if seems like just a flicker in some, that, that love will grow stronger and stronger.
That as Women we unite and that we empower. I pray that we honor and remember the battles fought ancestors as they broke through limitations and overcame adversity, and that we today pave the way with courage, strength, leadership and determination for the Women coming up behind us.
That we each stand in our Divine Power and that we Change this World one kind gesture at a time.
Love Peace & Blessings today and everyday
Niamh
