This May, New Wave Wild Project returns to Siamsa Tíre with The Wild Within, an inspiring exhibition and workshop series celebrating the therapeutic power of nature and our human connection to the natural world.

Now in its third year, this expanded creative programme builds on the success of the A Wave of Change events in 2024 and 2025. For 2026, New Wave Wild Project will present a dynamic showcase of visual art, educational talks, hands-on workshops, and an online auction—all exploring themes of grounding, connection, emotional wellbeing, and the creation of safe spaces through nature.

New Wave Wild Project is a local non-profit providing clinical adventure therapy for young people, adults, families, and community groups. Their work blends evidence-based therapeutic practice with intentional outdoor experiences. The Wild Within brings together artists, educators, and experiential therapeutic practitioners to illuminate the powerful intersection between art, nature, and healing.

The exhibition is free and open to all, offering a welcoming space for exploration, reflection, and creative engagement.

We invite you to join us in celebrating this unique journey into The Wild Within.

No two weeks are the same as an adventure therapist!
Having launched The Wild Within, we turn our sights to the Gathering of Adventure Therapy Europe (GATE) conference next week in Belgium.

The experiential workshop “The Adventure Toolkit: Tools and inspiration for engagement and practice” is fully booked, and it will be a privilege to deliver this piece with 40 delegates immersed in one of the National Forest locations in Belgium.

We will also be showcasing the international conference (IANTC) taking place in Kerry in April 2028, and inviting GATE delegates to join us in Ireland for sharing, learning, and collaboration as this space grows in scope and practice.

Today Wild Within exhibition, workshop series and fundraising auction opened for the New Wave Wild Project.

With up to 50 artwork pieces, and a series of arts and therapeutic workshops and talks, the theme behind them is very special: creating spaces where people feel grounded, connected to nature, supported and seen.

Philip Stallard commented: Nature makes us stop and be present and each of the pieces demonstrates the different ways our themes have been interpreted and how nature impacts us as individuals.

Throughout the exhibition you can bid on the artwork pieces up to exhibition closure on 20th June.

The Wild Within opens this Saturday 16th May from 2:30pm at , Tralee. Join us to visit the exhibition of wonderful artworks, generously donated to express the connection between nature, creativity, and our inner processes.

Throughout the month long event, you can enjoy the art exhibition, creative workshops, artist talks, before we close the event with our annual online fundraising art auction. All funds raised will go directly to fund adventure therapy interventions for those who need them most.

From the very beginning, we designed our programmes with young people in care in mind. Our previous experience supporting young people who face entering care, and who are care experienced, prompted us to develop an approach that started with the young person. In the 8 years since launching our programmes we have listened carefully to the reflections and feedback of young people over the years to develop and improve the person-centredness of our programmes.
