Should driving conditions or a scene become unsafe, you should stand down from the call, head to safety immediately and inform Ambulance control that you have done so.

๐Ÿšจ We are currently dealing with a very high call volume nationwide ๐Ÿšจ

If you're sick, please consider all your care options including the out-of-hours doctor, on call pharmacist or going directly to the Emergency Department.

Calling an ambulance will not get you seen at ED any quicker.

Please only ring 999 or 112 in a real emergency so that we can help those who need us most.

Congrats to all involved

A great news story from the American Heart Association

Lorraine was holding her newborn son, Court, in their hospital room 4 hours after his birth. As certified nursing assistant Hallie Allison stopped in to check Lorraine's vitals, Court stopped breathing. After calling the charge nurse for help, Hallie started infant CPR, using two thumbs to press onto the middle of the baby's chest, before Court was rushed to the NICU.

Now, Court is a happy and healthy 1-year-old. He started crawling later than most babies, but otherwise, he's hit every milestone. His pediatrician pegs his excellent outcome to how quickly he received high-quality CPR.

"Hallie didn't hesitate," Lorraine said. "She had the instincts to act right away."

"You really think, 'I'm never going to have to use CPR,'" Hallie said. "Then it happens. And you don't think, you just do."
