Today we say goodbye to Luna, our beautiful “Elephant in the Room” symbol for mental health awareness. 💙🐘

It has been an amazing week having Luna with us. This week reminded us how important it is to check in with each other, to listen, and to remember that nobody should feel alone with what they’re carrying.

We are truly grateful to have been part of this meaningful initiative and to everyone who stopped by, shared their stories, and showed support.

Thank you, Luna, for helping bring awareness, kindness, and connection to our community. 💙

Life can be a challenge, and the weight we carry can sometimes be unrecognisable.

Here is Mark, our team leader, wearing a weighted vest of 10kg. It’s heavy, but as he said, after 10 minutes of wearing it, he felt as if it was normal and a part of him.
It’s amazing the power of that statement. With time, the stress we feel can just become the norm and almost unrecognisable.

You can see in the second picture (he looks happy in both 😅) the stress lessening. As he said, it’s only when you take off the weighted vest that you realise the weight of it. It’s like sharing a problem or a challenge in your life and afterwards that problem just doesn’t feel as heavy.

“I feel lighter now,” Mark said. And you can too when you let something out that is weighing you down.

A great saying is: “A problem shared is a problem halved.”
It’s great for a reason 😊

From all of us at Morrissey’s, thank you for reading and following along on our journey with Luna. One more day and we will be sad to see her go, but we somehow feel she will leave a mark!

Mental health challenges are often invisible, and many people may be carrying struggles that others cannot see.

🐘Luna encourages us to look beyond appearances, to check in with family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues, and to remind people that they are not alone. A conversation, a smile, or simply listening can mean more than we realise.

We are honoured and appreciative to have Luna here with us in our pharmacy, helping us raise awareness and shine a light on such an important cause within our community💚🐘
