This World Mental Health Day, let’s talk, listen, and support better mental health together.

World Mental Health Day takes place every year on 10 October.

It reminds us why good mental health is so important, and how we can prioritise it in our lives and communities. It’s also a moment to talk openly and listen to what others are experiencing.

The theme for 2026 is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change” (World Federation for Mental Health).

Conversations about mental health make a difference. And they matter most when we listen to people’s experiences.

The flu is a contagious viral infection that spreads every winter. Getting the flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself against flu.
You can book a flu vaccine here www.testwell.ie or call in to our pharmacy.

Flu symptoms can come on suddenly. But to treat them you need your bed, not an antibiotic. Symptoms usually progress in both adults and children over a week.

See photo as to how you can treat them at each stage.

One of our pharmacists can advise you on over-the-counter medicines that will help.
You may not be well enough to go to the pharmacy. If possible, ask someone to go for you

*you're worried about your baby's or child's symptoms
*you're 65 or over
*you're pregnant
*you have a long-term medical condition – for example, a heart, lung, kidney or *neurological disease
*have a weak immune system – for example, if you have diabetes or you're having *chemotherapy
*your symptoms don't improve after 7 days
