I've just come home from the Care Show at the NEC in Birmingham, and my head is still full of it.
AI was everywhere. And genuinely, that's a good thing. If technology can take the weight off carers, free up time and reduce stress, I'm all for it.
But something kept nagging at me as I walked around.
Care is not a system. It's a relationship.
And no algorithm, however brilliant, can replace the feeling of being truly seen by another human being.
This morning, before I even left for Birmingham, two sisters joined our live Qi Gong class. They live in different places and don't get to see each other often. But there they were, side by side on screen, saying good morning to each other.
That moment had nothing to do with technology, really. The technology was just the door. What walked through it was love.
That's what we've built with Chi Flow. We didn't use the internet to replace human connection. We used it to create more of it. To bring people together who might otherwise feel isolated. To reduce fear. To build confidence. To remind each other that we are not alone.
And that, to me, is what care actually looks like.
So yes, let's embrace innovation. Let's be open to what AI can do and curious about how it can support us.
But let's never let efficiency become the goal. The goal is connection. The goal is a person feeling less frightened, less alone, more themselves.
Technology can open the door. We have to be the ones who walk through it, together.
Comment YES and I'll send you the link to try a free class.
