Well ladies and gentlemen… the sacrifices I make! Being on the other side of the camera is definitely not my favourite place to be, but to make sure everything was done completely fairly, I handed the final decision over to the trusty gumball machine 🎉

On a serious note, thank you all so much to everyone who took the time to enter and contribute. It was genuinely so lovely and heartwarming to see what love means to each of you. The thought, creativity and honesty that came through in your entries made this competition so special.

This eye tattoo is over 2 years healed. It still has the clarity and detail of the day it was done

My clients will know how I'm always speaking about leaving room for a tattoo to age well and the importance of looking ahead and not just at the design in the moment . This is because I want the kind of result shown above for everyone. A piece you can be proud of years later that retains it's initial impact.

A tattoo aging well doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a combination of experience, careful planning and ex*****on from your artist as well as your initial choice of artist and trust in their advice and ability.

For this reason I always advise people to think more simply for small tattoos. Or if you're certain it has to retain all its details then be flexible with the size.

Consider placement and how it will impact tattoos down the road or even the way your immediate tattoo will age (certain areas especially hands and feet don't age well )

Trust me when I tell you why something won't work, it's always for your benefit.

Usually there will be a work around especially if you come in with an open mind and understanding that a degree of flexibility will be required in some area or another.

Tuesday and Wednesday will remain by appointment only to allow those who prefer, a more private experience.

Resharing this piece that I drew a few years ago for my dad. I don't often get to spend time doing art for myself, so to sit with my pencils and take the time I wanted to make this was a huge indulgence.
Through the time I spent drawing it I thought of times spent by the river with my dad, looking for minnows and watching out for the elusive kingfisher.
The name alone had me expecting a huge bird (at least the size of an eagle) that would dive mercilessly into the water, emerging with a giant fish as it's reward.
I never expected such a bird to be so tiny and so wonderfully bright. But the mind of a child allows for unlimited imagining. Nevertheless, I am still captivated to this day by the beauty and colour of the kingfisher. A reminder to think big and appreciate the magic in the simple things 🖤

🦄 Christmas Magic Everywhere!! 🦄

This idea has been in my.head a while now so I finally allowed myself the time to take my weekend and do something for myself.
