Across many ancient cultures, tattoos were never merely decorative. Anthropological and historical evidence shows that body markings often served as symbols of protection, rites of passage, spiritual devotion, healing, identity, and belonging. Tattoos carried meaning beyond aesthetics, they communicated stories, values, and connections that were deeply woven into a person’s life.
Today, while tattooing has evolved into a diverse art form, many people still choose to mark their bodies with intention. Your body is your temple, and you decide what is written on its walls. Every tattoo carries a story, a memory, a belief, or a connection that becomes part of who you are.
Everyone has their own reason for tattooing their body.
We recently had the privilege of filming a video with our friend Musha, who generously shared the stories behind his tattoos. His story is not one of sadness, but of family bonds, love, remembrance, and carrying the people who matter most with you wherever you go.
Musha, thank you for your trust, your openness, and your commitment to this project. We are grateful that you chose to share your story with us and our community.
At our parlour, we don’t judge. We believe that every tattoo has meaning because every person has a story. Whether that story is about loss, celebration, identity, transformation, or love, it deserves to be heard and respected.
