BowelScreen Sticker on your Prescription? A reminder worth noticing.

From 1 October, participating pharmacies will be placing BowelScreen stickers on prescription bags for people aged 57–71.

The sticker includes a QR code and freephone number, making it easy to check your BowelScreen registration or register and request a free home test kit.

If you receive a BowelScreen sticker, talk to your community pharmacy team if you have any questions about the programme.

BowelScreen: supporting people in our communities

The HSE and IPU are working together to encourage people aged 57–71 to take part in BowelScreen, Ireland’s free bowel screening programme.

From 1 October, participating pharmacies across Ireland will begin displaying BowelScreen stickers on prescription bags, encouraging eligible people aged 57 - 71 to speak to their pharmacy team and find out more about the programme.

With more than 1,500 pharmacies taking part nationwide, community pharmacy teams can play an important role in raising awareness and supporting people to take part in bowel screening.

Hi I’m Alva 👋

After spending the past 15 years working in Perth, Australia, I’m delighted to be back home in Ireland and to have opened Sligo Hand Therapy Clinic.

I’m dual-qualified Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist and have specialised in hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation throughout my career.

During my time in Australia, I became an Accredited Hand Therapist (AHT), awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association, and also gained my Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential awarded by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) based in the USA. I am also a member of the British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT).

I’m really excited to bring my experience home and provide a dedicated hand therapy service locally here in Sligo.

Treatment may include assessment, tailored exercises, rehabilitation following injury or surgery, pain and swelling management, and custom-made splinting.
