Welcome to the Carrauntoohil Summit Challenge.

Hi everyone,

We are proud to be organising the Carrauntoohil Summit Challenge in aid of Brú Columbanus and Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH), in loving memory of our son, Jayden.

These charities hold a very special place in our hearts.

In 2019, after I fell from a roof, my family needed the support of Brú Columbanus. Then, in 2023, when our three sons were born prematurely in CUMH, we once again found ourselves relying on the incredible accommodation and support provided by Brú, just across the road from the hospital.

During some of the most difficult days of our lives, they gave us far more than a place to stay—they gave our family comfort, hope and the chance to remain close to our boys when we needed it most.

Brú Columbanus is entirely charity funded and receives no government funding. The care and support they provide to families facing unimaginable circumstances is truly priceless.

This event is our way of giving something back.

Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for Brú Columbanus and CUMH so that more families can receive the same care, support and compassion that meant so much to us.

Whether you take part in the climb, sponsor a participant, donate, or simply share this page, you are helping make a real difference.

Thank you for your support. Together, let’s make the very first Carrauntoohil Summit Challenge something truly special—and honour Jayden’s memory by helping other families when they need it most. 💙

Thank you

James,Linda,Josh and James mc Creesh

We are so grateful to have had Genevieve and Barry of PJ Hegarty visit us in CUMH to present their cheque from the annual Spin-A-Thon. PJ Hegarty & Sons

This year staff went all out, from Cork to Dublin and even their UK office. Staff pedalled not stop in support of Cork University Maternity Hospital. Their efforts resulted in €5,193.12 being raised. Thank you to everyone who took part! 🚲

We were once again joined by the Daly family, mum Aisling and daughter Faith organised a coffee morning at their house to raise funds for the CUH Cleft Team. 🧁 This time they had an extra pair of hands with little sister Gloria joining in and helping to raise an amazing €5,230.

Thank you to all of our amazing supporters who strengthen the bond between the hospital departments and the community they serve.

We are delighted to have Comyn Kelleher Tobin LLP as the sponsor of the 'Nearest to pin & Longest drive' competition for this year's Dr Con Murphy Charity Golf Classic. Thank you to CKT for supporting the charity's goal of 'Saving & Changing Lives'.

Funds from the Golf classic support projects such as the Comfort Care Rooms & Family Rooms across CUH. The Comfort Care Suite was designed for privacy and quiet, helping to ease a difficult process. By supporting, you help create and maintain compassionate spaces that go far beyond standard hospital care.

Do you want to take on a challenge? 🏢🏃

Sub-officer Niall Ó Crualaoich is asking the public to join him in a race to the top of Cork County Hall on August 30, to raise funds for CUH Charity.

This is the first of its kind in Ireland. Stairs running is growing in popularity in Europe but hasn't been done in Ireland on a fundraising level yet. You can be one of the first to take part.
