UCC Surgical Society, would like to sincerely thank Mr. Hennessy for his continued support, mentorship, and contribution to both our society and its members over the years.

It is a privilege to present him with the inaugural “Excellence in Surgical Mentorship Award” in recognition of the guidance, encouragement, and professionalism he has consistently shown to students pursuing surgery.

His impact on the society and on individual students has been greatly appreciated, and this award serves as a small acknowledgment of that contribution

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Henderson, an orthopaedic surgeon visiting from Alberta, for a teaching session focused on lower extremity injuries: covering how to recognise common fractures, approaches to surgical fixation, and the key risks and complications every future clinician should understand.

As Dr. Henderson is only visiting Ireland during this period, this session is taking place over Easter. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn from international surgical expertise while he’s here.

Whether you’re interested in surgery, emergency medicine, or simply want to build confidence interpreting fractures, this is a session you won’t want to miss.
