🌿🔥 Warmth with a purpose

At Sauna Suaimhneas, we believe that an important part of enjoying the simple pleasure of a wood-fired sauna is the joy of connecting with nature and should go hand in hand with caring for the natural world that makes it possible.

As a sauna business, wood is at the heart of what we do. That means we take our responsibility around how that wood is sourced and what we give back very seriously.

🌳 Supporting Hometree

We donate to Hometree, a nature restoration charity based right here in Ennistymon. Hometree works to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity through afforestation, restoration and education.

And yesterday, our team got to see that work first-hand.

We spent a staff evening at Hometree, getting our hands dirty helping to w**d around young oak saplings 🌱 before being given a tour and learning more about the incredible work happening on the ground. Thanks so much to Finnian for looking after us.

It was a brilliant reminder that sustainability isn’t just something to talk about it’s something to get involved in.

🪵 Choosing our fuel carefully

We source our wood from who put responsible sourcing and sustainability at the heart of their business.

ECOFUEL for example holds FSC®️ Chain of Custody certification and is a certified 1% for the Planet member, committing 1% of annual sales to environmental organisations and projects including Hometree.

For us, sustainability is about making better choices at every stage from the wood that fuels the sauna, to supporting the people restoring Ireland’s native forests.
