I love being a Nana… but I’m not the one sitting and watching from the sidelines.
I want the energy to play, travel, show up, and actually enjoy these years.

Sadly, somewhere along the way, a lot of women start thinking feeling exhausted, gaining weight, and slowing down is just part of getting older.

I don’t believe that.

I focus on simple, real-life things that actually help your body feel better again.

🟢Strength training that builds muscle (not just “working out”)
🟢Protein and minerals to fuel my body at a cellular level
🟢Supporting hormones and recovery (sleep, stress, HRT)
🟢Reducing the load from toxins, inflammation, and gut issues.

I’m not trying to just get through the day…
I want to feel good living it.

I didn’t expect Ireland to feel like this.

One minute we’re inching through tiny roads praying no one comes the other way, the next we’re pulling over because sheep have claimed the road (and honestly, they win). We mastered driving on the opposite side… or at least survived it… and laughed the whole way through.

Castles around every corner, the kind of scenery that makes you go quiet for a second, and long days of exploring with girlfriends who make everything more fun.

From the chaos of Dublin to the calm of the countryside, we saw as much as we could… and it still doesn’t feel like enough.

A little tired, a lot grateful, and already wishing we could do it all over again.

I remember so clearly when I thought I was doing all the
“right” things and I still felt tired, couldn’t sleep, and a simple workout left me sore for days. I had headaches, muscle cramps, and an afternoon crash that made me question everything.

Then I learned about minerals.
They are not sexy, but they run everything!
They help your cells make energy, regulate your nervous system, support hydration inside the cell, and keep your muscles working the way they should. When you are under stress, sleeping poorly, eating less, or using a
G L P-1, minerals need to go up while your intake often goes down.
This is why I also take creatine. It is one of the most researched supplements available. Creatine supports muscle strength, cognitive function, and healthy aging. In midlife, preserving lean muscle is directly tied to metabolism, inflammation balance, and longevity. If you are on a G L P-1, protecting muscle is even more important.

I cannot be the only one who has stepped on the scale and thought… yeah, that feels a little aggressive.

What makes it worse is when you know you have been trying.

You are doing all the things: eating better, moving your body and genuinely putting in effort.

Yet, somehow your body is just not getting the memo.

That is the part that messes with you.

Then you go online looking for answers and suddenly everyone has a different opinion.
Cut carbs. No wait, eat more carbs.
Lift heavier. No wait, it is your hormones.

It is enough to make you want to give up!

I was in that exact spot. Frustrated, confused, and honestly a little over it.

What I have learned as a person who’s been through it, and as a functional health coach, it is about doing a few key things consistently that supports your body in the way it needs right now.

If you are feeling stuck like this, I get it.

It’s hard to believe these taste like caramel -
but they do!
When you give them a try, let me know what you think!

1 cup pitted medjool dates
1/2 cup natural sugar-free peanut butter
1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp Celtic or sea salt
Soak the dates in hot water for about 15 minutes then drain and squeeze excess water.
In the bowl of a mini food processor, combine all ingredients and process until smooth.
Shape into desired loaf size and freeze for one hour.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.

1. If supporting your metabolism is cheating, then I’ve been doing this the hard way for way too long.

2. I thought that too… until I realized I was already doing all the “hard stuff” and still stuck.

3. Trust me, there’s nothing easy about lifting, tracking protein, and still not seeing results.

4. It’s not cheating, it’s giving your body support so all the effort actually works.

5. I used to think that… then I learned my body needed help, not more pressure.

6. If “eat less, exercise more” always worked, we would all be skinny. (thanks Doc for the advice.)

The truth is, I asked this too

But the more I’ve learned, the more I realized there is a whole other side to this.

Research shows GLP support can help improve blood sugar control, reduce inflammation, support heart health, and even lower the risk of things like heart attack and stroke. There are also studies looking at brain health and how it may support long term cognitive function.

That got my attention.

Feeling better day to day matters, but so does what is happening long term inside the body.

For me, this has looked like better sleep, less inflammation and lipedema pain, and finally feeling like my body is responding again.

For a long time, I assumed G L P support was for someone else. Someone who needed to lose lots of weight or had not already built healthy habits.

Then midlife hit, and things started to feel different.

I was still lifting, eating well, and doing all the things that used to work. But my body was not responding the same way anymore, and that was really frustrating because I was putting in the effort!

What I have learned over the years coaching women is that your body changes, and sometimes your approach needs to change with it.

Sometimes adding G L P support has nothing to do with a number on the scale, and sometimes it does. We all want better metabolic support, less inflammation, stable blood sugar, and to feel like ourselves, again. More clear, more steady, and not constantly working against our own body.

There is a whole side of this conversation that does not get talked about enough. How we feel day to day. Energy, inflammation, mental clarity, and long-term health.

If you feel like you have been doing everything right and still feel stuck, you are not alone, I see it all the time in my practice. Sometimes your body just needs a different kind of support.
