IWA members in Clonakilty were delighted to get a trophy for their felting project and for their resident felt mice at the Clonakilty Agricultural Show over the weekend. Well done to the amazing creative team in the centre, who worked so hard on creating their gorgeous pieces to enter into the competition. 🐭

Everyone at IWA would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the Northampton to Belmullet Charity Tractor Run. The incredible crew travelled 359 miles over five days to raise money for four vital charities, including Irish Wheelchair Association. 🚜

Starting on 25th May, this amazing convoy rolled out from The Swan and Helmet in Northampton. They battled the elements, crossing the Irish Sea and traversing the country before their triumphant arrival in Mayo on Friday, 29th May, and they raised over £69,000 for their chosen charities in the process.

A special thanks is owed to Martin Ruddy and Tom Kelly, founders of the Northampton Irish Vintage Tractor Club, who organised the tractor run. We would also like to thank Linda Conway and the team at The Corner House for their tireless work behind the scenes, hosting the grand arrival and organising the fundraising raffle. The community spirit in the pub was electric!

The funds raised will be distributed to the McCarthy-Dixon Foundation, the Belmullet branch of IWA, Glencastle Special National School, and the Ben Saunders Foundation. 🫂

The sun came out for our Clontarf members when they visited the Bloom Festival during the week making for a most fantastic day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Our Athlone Youths recently enjoyed a fantastic visit to Butler's Chocolate, where they got hands-on creating their own delicious chocolates and learning about the chocolate-making process.

Of course, no trip to Butler's would be complete without sampling some of the amazing treats on offer!😋

A huge thank you to the team at Butler's Chocolate for making the day so enjoyable and memorable. The smiles (and chocolate-covered fingers!) said it all.😀

Kenagh IWA's Open Day last week was attended by over 60 people who all thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Members and staff were joined by a wide range of guests including Councillor M Skelly, Longford Branch volunteers, Longford PPN, Longford Sports Partnership, staff from Therapeutic Lego Bricks Program, family members, Fr Tom and representatives of the wider community.

A big thank you to Longford Branch for supporting with sweet cart, balloons, and delicious refreshments on the day by Bernie & Kathleen.

We are so grateful to every one who attended and helped out in anyway to make it the great occasion it was.

A special shout out to our wonderful volunteers who were all recognised on the day with appreciation certificates for all their support to the members and staff in the centre.

At the SEAI Public Sector Energy Conference 2026 in DCU on May 28th last, IWA delivered a presentation titled “The Plan in Action – A Section 38/39 Example,” followed by a panel discussion.

The presentation emphasised the vital role of leadership in advancing decarbonisation and showcased our organisation’s approach to climate action.

We outlined our decarbonisation journey, highlighting initiatives such as Green Teams, our Climate Action Roadmap, and the use of tools like the SEAI Monitoring & Reporting (M&R) system to track progress and support evidence-based decision-making.
