๐Ÿ’ฅ Shoulder Pain When You Lift Your Arm?

Your rotator cuff could be involved. The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that helps keep your shoulder stable and allows you to move your arm.

๐Ÿ‘€ Common signs include:

We're living longer than ever before... but are we staying active enough? ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Ireland's population is ageing fast. In just 10 years, the number of people aged over 65 has grown by more than 40%, and by 2051, it's expected to reach around 1.6 million people.

The good news? We know that staying active is one of the best ways to stay healthy, independent and doing the things you love as you get older.

The worrying part is that only 1 in 3 adults aged 65โ€“74, and fewer than 1 in 5 people aged 75+, are getting the recommended amount of physical activity.

The HSE's Every Move Counts campaign has a simple message that we love:

Every bit of movement counts.

You don't have to run 10Ks or spend hours in the gym. A daily walk, some strength exercises, swimming, gardening, or even getting up and moving more often throughout the day can make a real difference.

Regular movement can help you:๐Ÿ’™ Stay stronger for longer๐Ÿšถ Improve balance and reduce your risk of falls๐Ÿฆด Keep your joints moving๐Ÿง  Support brain health๐Ÿ˜Š Maintain your independence and confidence

At our clinic, we help people of all ages keep moving, recover from injury, manage pain and stay active for the long term.

Because healthy ageing isn't about slowing downโ€”it's about keeping moving.

If you're finding it harder to do the things you enjoy because of pain or stiffness, we're here to help.

โ˜€๏ธ EXERCISING IN THE SUN? STAY SAFE & STAY HYDRATED ๐Ÿ’ง

The warm weather has arrived ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿƒ
Getting outdoors for a walk, run, cycle or workout is brilliant for both physical and mental health ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง

But exercising in the heat means your body loses more fluids through sweat โ€” and dehydration can affect performance, recovery and overall health โš ๏ธ

Here are some important tips to stay safe in the sun ๐Ÿ‘‡
๐Ÿ’ง Hydrate BEFORE you exercise
Donโ€™t wait until you feel thirsty โ€” start your workout already hydrated.

๐Ÿšฐ Drink water DURING exercise
Especially during longer sessions or hotter days โ˜€๏ธ

โšก Electrolytes can help
If exercising for longer periods, electrolyte drinks may help replace salts lost through sweat.

๐Ÿงด Wear SPF sunscreen
Even on cloudy Irish days โ˜๏ธ

๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Wear light breathable clothing
Light-coloured clothing and hats can help keep the body cooler.

โฐ Exercise at cooler times
Early mornings or evenings are usually safer and more comfortable.

๐Ÿฅต Watch for warning signs
Dizziness, headaches, nausea, cramps or unusual fatigue may be signs of dehydration or overheating.

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Listen to your body
Your body works harder in the heat โ€” slowing down and taking breaks is completely okay.
