This is a statement we hear quite often, and renting does not automatically rule you out from becoming a foster carer.

Foster carers come from all sorts of circumstances, including people who rent their homes. What matters is having a safe and suitable home, including a spare bedroom for a foster child, and being able to offer the care and stability a child needs. 💜

A baby will never remember whether your home was perfectly tidy or whether you had everything figured out. 🍼💛

What matters in those earliest months is much simpler. Being held when they cry. A familiar voice at bedtime. A warm bottle. Gentle reassurance. Someone consistently there to meet their needs, day after day.

You do not need to be a perfect parent to foster a baby. You need the time, patience and stability to provide the care a little one needs, along with a willingness to learn. Our team will be there with training, guidance and support throughout your fostering journey.

Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we want to say a big thank you to teachers across Ireland 🍎📚

For a foster child, having a teacher who notices, listens and understands can make a real difference. School can be an important source of familiarity and encouragement, and a supportive teacher can help a child feel more confident and settled.

Fostering means being there for a child when their family is going through a difficult time 💜

Every foster child comes with their own story, family connections, personality, favourite things and experiences. Foster carers make space for all of that, while offering the safety, patience and steady care a child needs during that time.

Some of life’s biggest changes can feel a little less frightening when you have your brother or sister beside you. 💜

For children entering foster care, that familiar face can mean so much. Someone who knows the same stories, remembers the same moments, shares the same jokes and understands where they have come from.

Where it is in the children’s best interests, keeping siblings together can help protect that important bond and give children a sense of familiarity during a time of change. 🫶
