Recently, our residents and teams at our Malahide Rd and Elm Hall Nursing Home marked World Elder Abuse Awareness Day through a range of meaningful activities focused on safeguarding, dignity and respect.
At Elm Hall, residents reflected on this year's theme, "Safeguarding Starts at the Table," sharing memories of favourite meals, family traditions and the people they most enjoyed spending time with. Residents and staff also contributed to a Safeguarding Pledge Tree, reaffirming their commitment to protecting and supporting older people.
At Malahide Road, residents took part in an Empowerment Social Tea and Coffee Morning centred around the theme "Every Voice Matters." Through a True or False quiz and group discussion, residents explored different forms of abuse, asked questions and shared their experiences, highlighting the importance of feeling safe, respected and heard.
These activities provided valuable opportunities for conversation, reflection and awareness, reinforcing our commitment to safeguarding and ensuring every older person is treated with dignity, compassion and respect. 💜
