Does everyone diagnosed with ADHD need medication? 🧠

The short answer is no, ADHD treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all.

In this video, MindBridge Medical founder and Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Shaeraine Raaj explains his holistic approach to ADHD management, looking beyond medication alone.

Lifestyle changes, appropriate evidence-based therapies and other supportive strategies can all form part of an individualised treatment plan, with medication considered where clinically appropriate.

The goal isn’t simply to treat a diagnosis. It’s to find the right combination of support for the individual.

Autism in adults doesn’t always look the way you might expect. 🧠

For many people, autistic traits may have gone unrecognised for years, particularly when they’ve learned to mask, adapt or develop ways of navigating situations they find challenging.

In this video, Dr. Jean McCabe, Senior Psychologist at MindBridge Medical, explores what autism can look like in adulthood and why every person’s experience of autism is different.

Understanding starts with looking beyond the stereotypes.

In this video, our founder and Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Shaeraine Raaj, shares why he started MindBridge Medical and the vision behind building a more accessible, evidence-based and patient-centred approach to mental healthcare in Ireland.

From improving access to specialist care to embracing telepsychiatry, MindBridge was created to help more people get the right support, wherever they are.

This is why MindBridge began. 🧠

What do you think—at what stage of life might someone with ADHD need support?
Earlier this year, MindBridge Medical took to Grafton Street to hear people’s views and understanding of ADHD. One important message stood out: ADHD affects everyone differently.
Many people with ADHD develop effective strategies, build successful careers and thrive in their personal and professional lives. Others may find that their symptoms become more difficult to manage during times of increased demands or change—such as starting university, entering the workplace, becoming a parent, experiencing relationship difficulties or facing changes later in life.
An ADHD diagnosis does not automatically mean medication. Support should be individualised and may include education, practical strategies, psychological support, workplace or educational adjustments, lifestyle changes and, where clinically appropriate, medication.
The right support depends on the person, their circumstances and the impact ADHD is having on their life.
What are your thoughts? At what point in life do you think someone with ADHD may need additional support?

L-theanine & Dopamine 🧠💜

L-theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that may help support a calm, focused mind by influencing brain chemicals such as dopamine.

While research is still evolving, studies suggest L-theanine may:
✨ Support focus and attention
✨ Promote calm alertness
✨ Help reduce mental stress
✨ Support cognitive flexibility

It’s not a stimulant—and it won’t replace healthy habits or medical treatment—but it may be one piece of the puzzle for overall brain health.

If you’re struggling with attention, motivation or ADHD symptoms, speak with a healthcare professional rather than relying on supplements alone.

📅 Appointments available from 6th August onwards.

💧 ADHD & Dehydration: Your brain notices it before you do.

Did you know that even mild dehydration can affect attention, concentration, energy and mood?

For people with ADHD, this can make everyday challenges feel even harder.

Dehydration doesn’t cause ADHD—but it can add to difficulties with focus, executive functioning and emotional regulation.

Simple habits can make a difference:
💧 Drink water regularly
🥤 Keep a water bottle nearby
⏰ Use reminders
🍉 Eat water-rich foods
😴 Stay on top of sleep and daily routines

Small changes can help support your brain throughout the day.

If you’re struggling with ADHD symptoms, a comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment can help.

MindBridge Medical at Hell & Back 2026.
An incredible day connecting with the community, sharing knowledge on ADHD, and having some fun along the way. From great conversations to a bit of friendly competition at our “Beat the Beep” challenge, it was fantastic to meet so many of you.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, took part, and made the day so memorable.

Locked in. No distractions. Just him vs the beep.

A quiet moment for a meaningful chat — Kelly in her element, supporting and guiding around ADHD and mental health.

Smiles after the MindBridge ice bath… bravery or madness, we’re still deciding.

Not just cold… we brought the atmosphere too.

IT support… but make it social.
Robert keeping things running and still finding time for a chat.

Pressure’s on — even the Army has to beat the beep under Navina’s watch

6 metres up and still smiling — different level of energy.

Laughter, good vibes… and an unexpected massage break. Morale boosting, MindBridge style.

The official welcome… equal parts excitement and regret.

More than awareness — real stories, real impact.
Our ambassador sharing his ADHD experience on the ground.

Under pressure — and Robert’s watching the clock.

Different stages of psychiatric training, same destination — supported, guided, and mentored by Dr Raaj toward becoming future psychiatry consultants.

Covered in mud, still smiling — that’s Hell & Back done right. Great to see Celtic Swords FC spirit on the day with Mindbridge Medical

Caught mid-laugh… and mid-daydream.

Small moments, real impact — Kelly connecting and sharing what we do.

A team shaped by experience, grounded in compassion, and connected by a shared mission to improve mental health care.

What a day.
Thank you to Hell & Back for the opportunity to partner and be part of such an incredible event. From meaningful conversations to shared laughter and a bit of competitive spirit at the “Beat the Beep,” it was a day built on connection.
To our ambassadors, our clinical and support teams, IT, nurses, and everyone behind the scenes — and to those who captured it all — thank you for making it happen.
