Goodbye August. Goodbye summer. Hello autumn. 🍂
This summer has been so different from the last one.
Last year, my dad passed away — exactly one year ago today, on August 31, 2025.
This summer has carried so much: the grief, the memories, the beautiful moments, and the challenging ones. But somehow, I am still able to move through all of them.
Grief didn’t make me harder.
It made me softer.
And somehow, stronger.
Grief teaches you to go inward. It teaches you to forgive, to let go, and to accept the things you cannot change. It has a funny way of working through you — in its own way and in its own timing.
I feel like I am finally getting closer to where I want to be emotionally. I am learning to accept my dad’s path and the way he chose to depart from this world.
It isn’t always easy to understand everything. Maybe we aren’t meant to.
Sometimes, acceptance is what is needed. Not because everything suddenly makes sense, but because we choose to trust that there is a bigger picture beyond what we can see.
The Bible says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5 🤍
So as August comes to an end, I’m choosing to leave some things behind with it.
The questions.
The guilt.
The things I cannot change.
And I’m carrying forward the love, the memories, the lessons and the gratitude.
Goodbye August.
Goodbye summer. 🍂
And hello to a new season — both outside of me and within me. 🤍
