If you’re a parent or carer and you have concerns about Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), reaching out can feel like a big step. Our team at FASD Hub Ireland is here to talk things through without pressure or judgement.

When parents and carers call us, they often start with questions like:

“I don’t know where to start or who to talk to.”

“How can I support my child at home or in school?”

“I’m not sure if what I’m seeing is something to be concerned about, can I talk it through?”

You don’t need a diagnosis or the ‘right words’. You just need to reach out.

Best of luck to everyone starting the Leaving Cert today!

You’ve already done the hard work just getting here. Take it one exam at a time, breathe, and do your best, that’s all anyone can ask.

Remember, your results don’t define you. There are so many paths and opportunities ahead, no matter what.

Be kind to yourself, keep going, and trust that you’ve got this.

✨ Teamwork, reflection, and big picture thinking at FASD Ireland ✨

As we head into the Bank Holiday weekend, our entire team came together to embrace a Theory of Change workshop, taking time to reflect, challenge ourselves, and strengthen how our work creates meaningful impact for individuals and families affected by FASD.

It was an energising and thoughtful full day session, reminding us of the power of shared vision, collaboration, and purpose. A huge thank you to the whole team for their openness, commitment, and willingness to lean into the process.

Also massive thanks to Dan Sissling, Strategist, Policy & Procedures Specialist for kindly volunteering his time and energy into delivering this session.

Now, time to recharge and enjoy a well‑earned break! Happy Bank Holiday from all of us at FASD Ireland!

Following the response to “The Hidden Disability”, we want to sincerely thank Clare FM for working with FASD Ireland to bring this important radio documentary to life.

By sharing the lived experiences of individuals, families, and professionals, this programme helped shine a light on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) - a lifelong, often misunderstood and hidden disability.

Awareness is the first step toward understanding, inclusion, and meaningful support.
Thank you to everyone who listened, shared, and continues to help amplify these vital conversations.

If you missed it, we encourage you to listen back and keep the conversation going: https://ow.ly/6sCR50Z2eBi
