I have been thinking about this rebrand from Solas Relaxation to The Mindful Language School for a while now.
I have been teaching mindfulness for over 10 years now and Irish for over 7 years and I have always kept them so separate. The Mindful Language School allows me to bring them together.
Mindfulness is a practice that teaches us to see what is in front of us, not just what we want to see and learning new languages teach us how to see the world from the perspective of new words, new cultures and new terms. Language learning is also very stressful!
When you are standing in front of someone trying to remember the word for ´orange´ and itś just not coming it is because when you are stressed, your brain doesn´t work. When we are in a stressful situation, our mind goes into survival mode so we cannot think. Mindfulness teaches you simple techniques you can use to ease some of that stress.
