At our Cancer Support Centre we offer a diverse range of services, available free of charge to anyone affected by cancer – patients, carers, family members and close friends. From first sign of symptoms, through waiting for results, during treatment and beyond our centre is here for you and those you care about. Our services range from counselling to complementary therapies, social and group acti

vities. We pride ourselves in ensuring that we can provide support to anyone of any age, offering comfort during what can be a difficult time. The Support centre, located at 72 Seamus Quirke Road, Westside, Galway has been in operation since May 2009. In the last three years, the centre has been visited over 18,000 times by people affected by cancer, both families and patients. The really unique aspect of our service is that traditionally, psychological and support services were seen as being mainly required at the time of diagnosis of cancer.

Side by Side is a peer support group for people living with advanced cancer.
The group offers an opportunity to share experiences, feelings, worries and practical challenges in a supportive, non judgmental environment.

The group meets once a month on a Tuesday morning from 10am to 11.30am, with the next group taking place on the 1st September.

We are currently recruiting for participants for our research study Melodic. This is a 12 week intervention for young people aged 18-35 years and their family members/loved ones, with lived experience of cancer within two years of diagnosis.
