Cancer Care West. The West of Ireland Charity. Supporting cancer patients and their families.

At our Cancer Support Centre we offer a diverse range of services, available free of charge to anyone affected by cancer – patients, carers, family members and close friends. From first sign of symptoms, through waiting for results, during treatment and beyond our centre is here for you and those you care about. Our services range from counselling to complementary therapies, social and group acti

vities. We pride ourselves in ensuring that we can provide support to anyone of any age, offering comfort during what can be a difficult time. The Support centre, located at 72 Seamus Quirke Road, Westside, Galway has been in operation since May 2009. In the last three years, the centre has been visited over 18,000 times by people affected by cancer, both families and patients. The really unique aspect of our service is that traditionally, psychological and support services were seen as being mainly required at the time of diagnosis of cancer.

A massive thank you to the students and teachers in St. Joseph’s Patrician College ‘The Bish’ for supporting us through their Annual 5k Run again this year. This fantastic group raised an incredible €2,463 for our cancer support services! Thank you to all the students and to everyone who supported them 👍

Shout out to 13 year old Elin Mulhall from Furbo who recently raised an absolutely incredible €10,774.17 for our cancer support services! 👍
Elin raised these funds by cutting over 14inchs off his hair ✂️ raising over €21k for us and the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust 💙
Elin decided to undertake this incredible fundraising initiative in memory of his late auntie Mary Ann 💜 He even took part in an interview on Galway Bay FM to chat about his fundraiser!! 📻 And received fantastic support from his wide circle of family, friends, school and sports clubs.

A massive shout out to this incredibly generous man Ciaran Delaney! 👍 Ciaran popped in to us this morning to present us with an incredible €7,701 which he raised through various fundraising initiatives in conjunction with his Dublin Marathon participation 💜 Ciaran is a wonderful supporter of our cancer services and it is always a pleasure to have him visit. A huge thank you to Ciaran and to everyone who supported his fundraising efforts for us. Ciaran is not stopping there - he has already plans in place for his next fundraising initiative for us!! He is an incredible man!
