๐ขAnnouncement!โจโจโจโจ
This year has been a milestone year for us so far! Over 20 years ago I trained as a yoga teacher and what some of you might not know last month it was 30 years ago I trained as a nurse!
It's been a year full of nostalgia and emotion revisiting times gone by! When I was training as a nurse I was also training as a reflexologist! When I moved to Galway nursing, alongside I was slowly establishing my holistic business back then in Athenry!
In the early 2000's I applied for partial funding to give massage and reflexology treatments to nurses and midwifes on site at GUH. Our application was accepted and myself and the gorgeous Aisling O'Leary were over the moon and continued for a full year!
It was during one of the treatments that a midwife said to me you'd be really good with pregnant women! Well that one comment ignited something in me that has been burning brightly ever since! I sought out a pregnancy and postnatal yoga training and as they say the rest is history!
I embarked on the most amazing journey full time meeting the most amazing yogi's, pregnant Momma's, Moms an babes and families here in Galway and more recently Ballinrobe! It has and is one of my greatest joys and privileges to be of service, offering support on many levels, creating a safe space and a beautiful community.
As they say once a nurse always a nurse!
Over the years I always stayed connected to the hospitals and nursing but in a different guise. Through my work with Croi visiting stroke patients offering reflexology treatments in Merlin Park and GUH. And our yoga classes evolved to pregnancy retreat days with a gorgeous team a midwife, womens specialist physiotherapist , perinatal psychologist and doula. And after our yoga class we'd invite guest speakers to share their gems of wisdom too and experience.
I loved drawing the community in and adding an extra layer of support, creating more empowerment, connections, familiarity and ease.
When I look back nursing, yoga and reflexology have been interweaving for years and I never seemed to be far from one or the other!
This summer with the year that's in it and my baby girl just starting secondary school I was drawn to complete a Return to Nursing Programme! So excited and not gonna lie a little nervous about going back after 21 years but I feel now is the perfect time to dive in and it's never too late!
I'm very saddened to say that I won't be able to restart our Friday Mom and baby Yoga drop in class, ran on donation. Our evening pregnancy yoga continues and any support I can offer Moms an babes I'm here or with Mommy and Me Combo's or Closing the bones ceremonies.
Much gratitude and love for choosing our classes over the years and sharing these super special moments in your lifes which last a lifetime! ๐๐ฅฐโค๏ธ
