Things I Wish More Clients Knew Before Starting Therapy 🤍
I see many clients who come to their first session feeling completely overwhelmed or have reached their limit a long time before they show up.
"I know this isn't a big problem compared to what others are going through in the world" is often mentioned before they share what is happening in their life. So many people minimise their story and don't feel safe to take up space.
A reminder that you deserve to take up space as much as anyone else.
Progress is never straightforward. It might feel like you take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back, but once you make the decision to start your healing journey, there's no going back.Some weeks in therapy might feel heavy and emotional. Other weeks may feel lighter.
That doesn't mean you're going backwards.
Spaces where there is trust helps lay the foundation for you to feel emotionally held, seen and safe allows for deep healing to begin.
