*REMINDER* ; Focus on what you HAVE control over. ⬇️

When things don't go our way it's so easy to get engaged in negative thoughts...

We start ruminating on all things that aren't working in our favour, worrying about all the bad things that could happen next...

So what can we do to avoid such situation?

Practice *meditation*.
..Why?

Because meditation shows us that we can change our "autopilot mode" and CHOOSE to focus on what we can control, which is
- how we PERCEIVE a situation,
- how we REACT to it,
- and how we RESPOND.

Meditation helps us over time to accept what is, without judgement, and train us to stop and choose our reaction instead of automatically ruminating and complaining about it.

Meditation gives us the control back.

Imagine for a few seconds that your mind is like the ocean.
And the thoughts that pass through it are like the waves in that ocean.

As the waves in the ocean, there is a constant movement of thoughts passing through your mind.

Yet you don't have to follow and believe every single thought passing by. You can decide to let them go just like the ocean lets the waves rush to the shore.

Easier said than done you may think... That's why the practice of meditation is so essential, it trains you to identify and select the thoughts that you want to believe and that actually serve you...and let the others go.

10 or even 5 minutes a day. That's all it takes.

The TRUTH is….as with any practice, some days will be easier than others, and hence some meditations will feel more beneficial than others.

Don't give up or view it as a "waste of time".

See it instead as a "practice within a practice”…

….an opportunity to develop your capacity to treat yourself with kindness, to avoid judgement and accept any given experience even when it doesn't meet your expectations or hopes.

Don’t be too hard on yourself.
