Sun isn’t the enemy — overdoing it is. ☀️
Our bodies were designed to live with sunlight, enjoy nature, and spend time outdoors. The key is learning how to enjoy the sun wisely instead of fearing it.
For me personally, I prefer a more natural approach to skincare and sun care. I choose to avoid heavily chemical-based products and focus instead on listening to my body, limiting overexposure, hydrating my skin, and supporting it naturally.
The biggest mistake? Burning your skin.
Instead of spending hours under intense midday sun, try a balanced approach:
• Spend short periods in the sun
• Take breaks in the shade
• Cover shoulders or sensitive areas when needed
• Build sun exposure gradually
• I avoid wearing sunglasses while sunbathing because , natural light through the eyes helps the body respond to sunlight and support the skin’s natural protective response
• Stay hydrated
• Moisturise your skin deeply after sun exposure
And if your skin get too much sun — hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Your skin needs soothing moisture and nourishment.
Some of my favourite natural skincare products for after-sun care are:
• Balmonds Daily Moisturiser — with h**p, shea butter & calendula
• Aloe Pura Organic Aloe Vera Gel — cooling and soothing
• Aloe Pura After Sun Lotion — hydrating and calming for sun-exposed skin
I personally love using aloe vera and plant-based moisturisers after time outdoors because they help my skin feel calm, replenished, and nourished naturally.
