Don’t let a “niggle” become a season-ender! 🛑
Running is incredible for the soul, but it can be tough on the body if we aren’t careful. Here are the 5 most common injuries every runner should keep on their radar:
1️⃣ **Runner’s Knee:** That dull ache around the kneecap. Often caused by weak hips or sudden mileage jumps.
2️⃣ **Shin Splints:** Pain along the tibia(shin bone). Can be a sign of old shoes or running too much on hard surfaces.
3️⃣ **Achilles Tendinitis:** Inflammation of the tendon above your heel. Don’t ignore this one.
4️⃣ **Plantar Fasciitis:** That sharp “stabbing” pain in your heel- during your first steps in the morning typically.
5️⃣ **IT Band Syndrome:** Sharp pain on the outside of the knee.
✨ **THE FIX:** Most of these come down to the “Too Much, Too Soon” rule. Listen to your body, strength train twice a week, and replace those shoes every 300-500 miles (450-800km roughly)
